Is it me or what!

Submitted by Hammers65 on Sat, 21/03/2015 - 22:54

Ive posted this to death that i neither like or dislike sam & that im in the be carefull what you wish for camp. But is it me & has the position of being in 4th spot earlier in the season for a while gone to our heads a bit?Dont get me wrong, i was there in the old chicken run screaming at the top of the my voice "Barcelona we,re coming for you"!But as a fan of 45 years & entering my 50th year, like every other hammers fan this was sung with just a slight hint of cynicism!Yes its great that we held 4th spot with our fantastic signings but i think we all knew it wouldnt last!ok the football aint pretty at times but like darren says we have our best squad probably ever in the prem.We dug out a victory today (& apart from scandalous refereeing) it could have been more...With or without sam the future is bright,(sakho, valencia, cresswell, kouyate, jenkinson if he signs! to name a few)one more season in the Boleyn (what a wrench its going to be to say goodbye to the old girl!) then we will be in the olympic stadium...more investment will produce more funds to buy even better players..i for one am looking to the future & am a very happy hammer...

We can only manage to beat one team in 12/13 games, we just beat Bristol City in the cup and then got smashed by WBA, we beat Liverpool and Citeh but around that time so did other teams that you wouldn't expect to so what does that tell you about our manager? He needs to go and the sooner the better! Today was shocking against a rubbish side but I'm sure he will come up with more pathetic excuses yet again!

Why play Jarvis, with the pitching wedges on both boots, when his performances have been so poor and goal scoring record is shocking? You have Amalfitano on the bench who has scored 3 in 17 and Nene who played for PSG? Jarvis has 4 goals in 68 games!!! They must have been really impressed sitting on the bench today watching that game! Replacing him with Carlton proved just how bad our manager really is, as we can all sing the praises of his loyalty but let's get real and ask ourselves 'is Carlton Cole a Premier League footballer?', which has been the case for the past few years but some people don't understand the game. We love the person more than we do the player in my opinion and this will get us nowhere in my opinion.

I only watched the game on line and agree it was a scrappy game (though a welcome 3 points). Regards Jarvis he put in one sublime ball and from the angle I saw it Nolan was clearly impeded (I know one swallow etc) OK shoot me now but Carlton in that last 10 mins IMO did ok held up the ball and drew a free kick which saw the game out (he does not tend to do that very often I admit) I will hold my hand up and agree that from what I saw and listened to Carlton did not get a mention for the first 50% of his cameo but he did occupy a couple of defenders despite not being near the ball.
Strangely I would start him and Nene against the like of Stoke to simply out bully the bullies then change things around the 30 min mark (I know that sounds too soon) but rough em up a bit. My next venture is the Etihad just a week after my grandsons christening and I really believe we can snatch a point there but instead of Jarvis and Nolan I would have (providing Reid is fit) Amalfitano who is a lot sharper with Check linking up in the middle.

I would start them any day instead of nolan & jarvis.Poor old matt jarvis, where do you start? came to westham with high expectations, but as much as he trys his confidence is shot to pieces....As for carlton-hes not good enough but unfortunately we are down to the bare bones up front.

where does this loyalty shite come from ,? where ? because he didn't feel like moving to Stoke when they showed marginal interest in him , loyalty my arse , what does he really bring to the team , his skill level out of 10 = 3

his stamina , 3, his average performance 4, his injury record 9 , ( what does that tell you ) he doesn't have it lads , he never did , he's a waist of space and should be playing for Hartlepool

But everything to do with the knowledge that we can play better and score more goals when playing some real football.
I hope Sam Allardyce does not get a renewed contract but I also hope that we all appreciate what he has done too.

I am not a fan but he was never going to be Ron Greenwood was he.

expectations have been raised by that run. I really would love to see us challenge for a champions league place and more, what's more I really believe the next few years will see that happen, our club has under achieved for years but the current board with the Olympic stadium on the horizon I believe will change that, however we have finished in the top four once in our history and the top six about three times,, we have finished higher than we are now about a dozen times in post war football if that so we are in the right direction. I don't think we should settle for mediocrity but to change the whole way our club is in terms of consistency will either take a period of time or a squillionaire, never worrying about relegation again would be a bloody good start given the last twenty years
