Joey Barton

Submitted by edwindup on Mon, 10/08/2015 - 16:32

Blimey it is being reported that Joey Barton is having a medical with us tomorrow. What do people reckon on this. I gather he is free agent. He does some steel but his discipline record is not . Is he a fit for us?

Sorry the keyboard is playing up so missing words as above but you get my drift!

I think he has some ability but I'm not sure about his personality, could be a bad apple in the squad if things don't go his way, very outspoken about everything so I'm surprised we'd take a risk if I'm honest

Why oh why are Stoke signing an exciting ex-Inter Milan midfielder whilst we are signing a 33 year old clockwork orange type twat? Fuming! This coming after our manager states that we will be signing Jiminez, but then he 'overslept' and missed the bloody medical?
When will West Ham give me the job of negotiating our transfers and ensuring that people within the club just shut up and stop impacting the slim bargaining power we obviously seem to have? Someone please tweet the two Dave's and put me forward :)

Wouldn't be far from what I've always thought about him, but perhaps delusions of being an intellectual might be closer. However he does seem to have matured a bit the last couple of years, and was thought by many to be QPR's best player in that horribly managed side. I wonder if Nolan has made it clear he wants to leave, and Barton is seen as a one season cover for him...

Would rather we went for Berbatov...he scores goals wherever he he goes...Bartone too disruptive even if he has allegedly 'matured'. FFS he's 32 years old, you'd hope so wouldn't you...

So he's " a foul obnoxious twat with delusions of grandeur"? He must have multiple usernames for this site then as there's no shortage of them here it seems.

Do you like Barton as a person Lenuse? Not interested in what you think of people on here but am interested on your thoughts on the main topic here.

Is a cover up once we were out of the euro he changed his mind about us. But the way we handle transfers are very poor. We seem to try and do them on the cheap, go in for players let everyone know who we are in for but put in such silly bids they get turned down. When you see how other clubs go about there business ours seems to be very poor.

They do need to keep their big gobs shut more. I wondered about Jimenez too, as apparently he was seen here start of last week, and then he called off the move! BUT I also wonder if the way we played at Arsenal might alter the minds a bit of 1 or 2 players we are after...? Still need a Downing replacement and a striker, but there are 3 weeks of the window left, so I will reserve judgement.

Thought it was a wind-up when I heard it first, can't see what he's really going to offer. But then I thought we were in for a beating last Sunday so what do I know.

I think most of us are relieved. What worries me is the Sakho arrest for assault!

Bailed until late September while the police investigate. Had heard he had been having 'domestic problems' with an ex-girlfriend for a while, sounds like it blew up into a barney.
