Just pay the money and appoint Benitez

so Moyes has gone, either pushed out or more likely decided theres too much going on at the club to stay, either way we need a new manager. Once again you wonder why there seems little in the way of preparation for this, surely they didnt wait to the last game to think whether they wanted moyes to stay on? that said, the names are coming thick and fast - fonseca, pelligrini, emery, arsene wenger, donald trump, you name him, he's 'interested'. for me we need someone who can get a grip on the club, someone who commands respect immediately. the last thing we need is a 'new to the premier league' gamble imo. those are only ever successful if they are given big funds initially because they aren't the 'get the best out of what we have' types. For me the obvious choice now is Benitez. vast experience in this league and in europe, organises, works, works and has decent pulling power in the market too. surely he would be tempted to pack it in at newcastle now after a miracle season on no funds. he was interested before. of course theres the question if he actually still wants the job after the recent circus shows this season, but for me he needs to be the first in the interview room.

But with everton about to give bfs the boot I reckon they could also look to appoint him....he has a home still on Merseyside so it would be a lot more appealing to him than upping sticks down to the smoke...but time will tell...I am sure the board will be swift and announce the new manager on the 31st of august and expect to get his transfer targets done by January!

Personally looking at it from the driscolls point of view Benitez should be the right man, and I think he would be a good appointment. Not much of a risk, just proved he can pull together a team with lesser players, and could if they really want to push us forward. Trouble is they want a puppet, they can't relinquish control of ANYTHING. He HAS to be given money and HAS to allowed to do it HIS way. They trust no-one except Brady. So it won't work.

Rafa would be the best available now. But still, I wonder why Benitez would come and work for the circus when Newcastle finished so much further up the table.

Haven't exactly been playing the beautiful game. Benitez has done at Newcastle on limited funds, no different to Sam, Moyes, Pulis, Dyche, Hughes and quite a few other managers in the Premier League, including Mourhino.

The Real Madrid one pass eh? Thing is, he had money at all those clubs. He's winning fuck all at Newcastle right? Slaven Bilic managed the national team. Just saying like....

I'm merely saying Newcastle are no better to watch than any of my listed managers. Who KNOWS how Sam ( for example) or Moyes would have done at West Ham with Man City or Chelsea's unlimited spending power. Until we see those managers in the same scenarios as the Peps then we'll never know.

Won the champions league with liverpool and europa with chelsea. How is anyone gonna say what Benitez has done at newcastle isnt wonders. No money the same squad that got promoted and he got them to 10th. Also Allardyce got to manage a team spent 100+ mill and in jan chose to buy walcott and tosun. I can see why nobody wants to give him free reign.

Who pissed 100 million up the wall at Everton. Not Allardyce.

Allardyce spent 47 million in january. Also they didn't piss 100 million up the wall, Koeman was unfairly sacked. Allardyce pissed enough of west hams money away for me to know that giving him a warchest would be a silly move.
