Predictions for Arsenal game

Submitted by Chippy Dave on Sat, 08/08/2015 - 17:44

So after resting all of the first team squad in preparation for the big game against Arsenal on Sunday what result are we all predicting, I'll be very happy if we manage a draw so I'm going for a very optimistic 1-1, Payet to score

We didn't get a single point from Arsenal under Sam home or away. Even a loss but with a encouraging performance will be good enough for me at this stage. I'd be delighted with anything more.

Jesus , give the man a chance , we haven't played our first game yet , truth is theres a lot of die hard Sam fans out there and they would love to say " i told you so " maybe the decision to give up on Europe wasn't his alone , i for one agree with it , lets try and consolidate our position in the prem and then see what happens , the last thing we needed was a protracted run in the Europa cup , asking for trouble

I agree Burkie. In Allardyce's 4th season we won 3 out of our last 20 games, will those already writing Bilic off be as blindly loyal to him if he has the same record in his 4th season?

Lol.

Why you so despondent you grumpy old goat?

You not confident Payet,Lanzini and even Zarate might add a bit of flair this season.
Think we have been really unlucky re Valencia and Carroll and I do share your concern re width still but I think we are progressing.

Totally agree re depending heavily on Sakho but hopefully we might shift Nolan and Maiga before that end of the window and bring another CF and winger in.

Burkie 1

Well let's be brutally honesty Burkie he has made an awful lot of money from us whilst contributing absolutely next to zero for our cause!!!

Sometimes a change of manager benefits certain players ( though not sure why any player struggles if they are properly fit and motivated as they should be) SO HOPEFULLY you are right.

I just don't feel very optimistic about this coming season for some reason mate, pre season was poor, defensively we look rubbish and we're hoping that Payet is to become the superstar of the side. I know you can't read much into pre season but I can't see that all of a sudden today will be like flicking a switch and a new re energised West Ham will take to the pitch, obviously hope I'm wrong. We certainly have more options in the creativity department, obviously Payet and Lanzini looks a good player, also hope that Samuelson gets some games as he looks a very good prospect

Cannot see anything other than a defeat tomorrow. Am going for a 0-3 or 1-3 loss. Transfer seems to have hit the buffers so apart from Payet and maybe Lanzarote (sic) we haven't exactly enhanced our player quality. Think we missed out on some good deals like Gestede etc who would have been useful. Looking at Swansea and Palace they have bought well. Our owners have pussyfooted around too much and am disappointed. I think it is going to be a tough year.

West Ham were on the verge of signing him, and the pathetic defeat has meant that he has opted to join a team that still has ambitions in Europe. With Zarate now having to step up the the plate, it looks like this will be a match that is all Arsenal's to lose. Hoping that this will be a Hammers side of pre Christmas form. If so it could end up as a rare shock win for the Hammers if Payet manages to score.

2-2 draw

To be honest I feel a drubbing may be a big possibility but I can lie to myself.

Just hope they play with commitment and passion add to that football on the grass.

Oh yee of little faith!!! This team is going to do very well under Bilic and today was typical of the way he had Croatia playing and at the Arse's cabbage patch as well :-) A few minor touches and hopefully two home wins coming up and most of you would have forgotten about the Europa league bebacle last week and singing his praises!!! an excellent win today I had a draw in mind but over the moon after that win!

One of the biggest difference s Bondsy was a solid game plan which although only playing 1 upfront ( not everybodies cup of tea)it proved it can work if said player is mobile ( which Sahko is) AND there are runners willing to support him ( which Kouyate and Payet in particular are).

1 swallow and all that but the result, effort and a Manager who is willing to give youth a chance should be applauded.

It's things like that that put the icing on top of a very large cake.

Enjoy your winnings.

Might not be the biggest...but they won't come much sweeter.

I don't bet as I'm crap at predicting and whenever I used to bet on WHU we would lose so I had to give up.

I had a few quid spare and thought what the heck it's only the Gooners, and I told a goner at work ( who's getting both barrels today ) I think it's the best time to play them....
