Just seen they have signed Trippier (Burnley) who although I have to confess I dont know a lot about but a few on here seem to rate him highly.
But have they (dont pay an awful lot of attention to them) not got the current England right back?!
They also signed De Andre Yedlin who looked absolutely superb for the USA in the World Cup last year and he was making appearances for them towards the end of the season so you have to think they have hopes for him.
Have to say that on that basis the signing doesnt make much sense. For club OR PLAYER!!!
Im sure money wont have been a million miles away from his decision but strange never the less from both parties!!!

To Walker if he stays fit . Heard from a spuds mate that Yedlin hasn't impressed like they thought he would . But as you say money talks most prob on a lot more at spuds than Burnley . Would have liked us to have gone in for him as we have a prob at RB .

It's the kind of thing that can take a players career severely backwards isn't it. That said if you are catapult ing yourself into financial security it might make sense. I just think footballers should want to play the game and given the fact he played every game in the Prem last year he is now going to be doing probably the total opposite!!
Trippier is a very good player
He was Burnley's best player against us, he made a number of good runs and was constantly looking to play players in front of him into good positions. Walker has been struggling a lot with injuries over the past year and they need back up and although the US guy is very quick, I hear he doesn't concentrate enough on his defensive responsibilities. Hate to say it but a good move by the Spuds and the difference in having quality in depth which we need but never have.

Fair point Co!in. I suppose he's got the best of both worlds....belief in his ability and the chance to break into a top 8 side with the backup of probably very good wages.
Might be worth us taking apunt on Yedlin in light of this. We need a couple of them.
