Team for Leicester in league cup

I, like many other fans would like to see us have a decent cup run this season and considering our depth this appears to be the season. However I would rather us go for the FA cup rather than the League Cup. Anyway considering that the team just won an exhausting encounter at the Etihad against City the question becomes who starts against Leicester. Unfortunately for us Jelavic and Antonio are cup tied. This would have been a great opportunity to get them out and playing. I fully expect Randolph, Collins, Oxford, Zarate and Carroll to start. We may even see game time for Hendrie and Cullen. However if we throw out a team of youngsters and barely fit players we could struggle against Leicester so what 11 do we pick??

I'm sure we can leave it to Slaven to put out a team that he believes is best for the current situation. Although we would all like a cup run we need to be realistic and paramount importance is a solid position in the premiership (or European qualification the way we are currently going !!)

How do you arrive at the "barely fit players"?!

Surely they have all been training!!

If your maybe alluding to Carroll how else would you propose "he gets fit"?!!

Its an incredibly pity that Jelavic and Antonia are Cup tied as realistically this would be where they could expect to get much needed game time!!!

Randolf, Jenkinson (he still needs game time after his recent poor displays/suspension),Collins,Tomkins,Hendrie. Moses (again still needs game time) Oxford,Obiang (same applies)Samuelson,Carroll and Zarate.

Could have a bit of experience on the bench and some youngsters.

Winning football matches breeds confidence and WE NEED EVERY OPPORTUNITY to get game time for what is now a very large squad so taking this game extremely seriously.

For me Tomkins deserves a rest he has probably played the most due to euafa cup. so it's Randolph, jenks, Hendrie, Collins, obiang, Oxford, burk ( if he's back from load) or Henry. Zarate, Moses, Carroll Lanzini and the strongest of benches.

I just meant that most are returning from injury and we know that training with the team isn't the same as playing matches. You need to get that Match awareness back

Yeah I can see those 5 starting, I guess the question is who he thinks needs a rest after Saturday's heroics.

Carroll will be itching to

Carroll will be itching to start, and I can see him getting amongst the goals tomorrow night along with Zarate. The fact the squad is so much stronger than previous seasons ,I think there is genuine reason to be optimistic of cup success this season and a healthy top 6-8 finish in the league.Be good to see some of the big teams get knocked out in these early rounds,especially by the minnows,love it when that happens.
