Does this mean moyes is on the way in the Summer?

I have pretty much supported Sam from the outset, given the mess we were in, I thought he was exactly the right appointment. He got us up and kept us up, which was his brief. Last season was pretty dire but we continue in the premier league and that was crucial. This season has generally been goo, couple of poor performances but expectations were raised by our lofty position towards the end of the year. I don't agree with some that Carroll retuning was a negative, he is certainly injury prone but he is a top player when fit. Our first team is pretty good but we lack depth and this has been exposed. I think Sam has two weaknesses, one - he is very good at setting up teams to play against superior opposition, teams that will come on to you and look to beat you, however, teams that contain and play on the break always seem to be a problem for us, the only option he has in that scenario at the moment is to use Carroll as a battering ram and he keeps getting injured. We need to learn to break teams down without leaving gaps at the back. The second problem for Sam is the fan factor, he is simply never going to have a decent relationship with the crowd, I really believe this is undermining the club, Sam "isn't West Ham " and his arrogance stops him from trying to be and alienates the fans. I think overall he has done a good job, it would be interesting to see if he could develop the team with more depth and the experience of having a decent side expected to win games but I think that if the board could identify a replacement who would capture the fans imagination we could achieve great momentum going into the new stadium. David Moyes is really not that person, I think the fans would not take to him.
I hope we find the right person, I am not certain Sam will go as if we achieve a decent finish now we have a run of winnable games it may persuade the board to keep him. If he gets a decent offer (Sunderland) or less than about 14 points from the remainder of the season, I think he will be gone

I agree with most of that, Kent. Sam was absolutely the man to stabilise the club, and he's been well paid for it so I gather. But he is old school in his tactical thinking, and will always be defensively minded, no matter what. And Moyes would be more of the same.
It seems to me also, that although the players seem to get on well with him, that he is not a great motivator, he's probably too truthful! I too think that if Sam can engineer a cracking finish to the season than he probably keeps his job. The trouble is, I sincerely doubt that he can, but I'm happy to be proved wrong. But still think he is unlikely to be here long-term, so at some point they have to take the plunge.

His contract will not be renewed imo! and we will have a new manager! Moyes is SUGO's first choice as the man to keep us in the premiership and possibly the one to take us into Europe. I disagree with the opinions on here that Allardyce has done a good job, he has not! I actually rate Moyes a lot higher than Sam Allardyce!
People forget we only won 3 of our last 15 or 16 matches last season and we have only won 2 of our last 15 matches after the loss to Arsenal. Can we muster a good run in? I personally doubt it but even if we do the rumours around the club are that Allardyce is as good as gone after the Newcastle game.

A D Bonds

Bondsy, do you think that Moyes will get the fans onside? Lots of Everton fans really moaned about him. Despite delivering league positions we would love. Ironically the much lauded, entertainer Martinez is struggling to replicate that this season.
