just heard this and shook my head in disbelief but here it is....we are the only team in the premier league whose strikers(Antonio is not one)have yet to score in a competitive match...injuries aside and only playing 1 upfront that is a truly a shocking indictement of our players and coaching staff.

The stat doesnt surprise me!

Zaza,ayew,fletcher,calleri are never going to be prolific...add sicknote to the list!the only one that might do the business is sakho,IF & when he returns,but is his head right!the board have produced a lot of spin with this move,so isnt it time to start looking at decent players?apparently we are being linked to ivanovic from chelski, says it all really!

Out of all those strikers, the only one who has really played a decent number of games is Zaza. Can't slate them if they ain't playing

To me it will always be about

To me it will always be about the service to a frontman when playing only one up front. Since Antonio was called up by England, (yes he keeps scoring) but he cant give a decent cross and loses the ball far too many times and Cresswell needs a couple more games while Payet does not like playing wide so the accuracy of our crosses is pretty dismal and our approach play far too slow allowing defenders to cope easily whenever we do break through.......................hence our strikers look pretty poor.
Many of you love Noble but on Saturday and in a lot of matches he is guilty of slowing the play down, turning too many circles and passing sideways again too many times instead of looking for that through ball that would involve the striker
I have not seen a decent match yet this season that can match the way we were playing last season ( excluding 3 of our last four which were as bad as we are now)
Not good at all and I cant see us improving until Payet is playing close to Noble in the middle and supporting the striker, Cresswell back in form and Antonio getting his head out of the clouds, then we might just see games similar to last season again.

I agree to a point, Bondsy, but what I saw Saturday was musical statues. Noble was always looking for a pass but there was so little movement it was ridiculous. Even for throw ins they just bloody stood there.

Payet has been so lazy and uninterested lately. Yes I think Ayew should prob play wide and Payet in the middle but I still don't think Payet would put the shift in like he did last season.
Also, when you have 3 cb's up against 1 player, why did we have the need for Noble to drop deep and sometimes even Ayew to get the ball.
One up front definitely ain't working though.

This club is currently rotten to the core and I genuinely fear for the season. Players not having a clue or can't. E bothered. Athletics stadium for a football stadium. Owners promising one thing but not delivering E.g marquee striker. Manager unable to motivate the team or deploy the right tactics. On the last point, Antonio at right back since last season shows how bloody stubborn he is.
