Disappointing but now we have to concentrate on the premier league. The players we have bought will make a difference but we still need a bit of quality to come in plus move out a couple. What do people think are the plus and minuses of our team at the moment. For me Nolan looks out of touch with the game now and should go and I'm not impressed with Jarvis or Miaga who just doesn't look interested. The wages we would save by moving those 3 out would free up money and should give us enough to bring in one or two decent improvements but who would take them. Thoughts please gentleman.

I fear our manager is believing in his own press if he really thought he could win with that line up! I feel tonight's result is a sacrifice. To win at Arsnal, now let's win at Arsnal or at lease show promise of a cohesive team.

Yes those 3 need to be moved on, and replaced. We didn't deserve to beat Birkirkara, and couldn't beat Astra at home with a full squad... People say The Europa is a poisoned chalice, well we sure spat that poison out early, no excuses in the PL now.

By My calculations we have only spent (net) just over 15 million , SUGO need to stop pissing about and dig deeper . I get the feeling they are just trying to do enough for Prem safety and no more ?

I don't really know what to expect now from this coming season, we fielded a very weakened side last night more or less giving out the message that we're not at all interested in European football, our pre season form has been awful and we're struggling to get in reinforcements, our backroom staff seem to be non existent, unless I've missed something, we don't appear to have an assistant manager or any recognised coaches other than Chris Woods, Dicks is still a poor appointment for me, don't know what he's adding really. i just hope we don't go to The Emirates and get trounced on Sunday otherwise it's going to be a very poor week

for me , bluntly , he took a dive , he's a experienced manager , he knows the team he put out was never going anywhere , Miaga and Nolan ? give me a break ,and as for Randolf in goal , the good thing is he blooded a lot of academy players on the European stage and that can be invaluable, please excuse my pessimism but we were never going far in this comp , it needs revitalizing anyway , its a second rate tournament compared to the real thing C L , now we can play with a a great deal more confidence in the prem knowing our injury risk is significantly reduced , onward s and upwards , bring on the gooners , it'll be tight but i think we can sneak it , coyi

So far, I have seen 3 games and I am totally underwhelmed with what I am seeing. Same old Hammers, mistakes at the back and missed chances up front and not taking European football seriously. This is an embarrassment.I hope Bilic does well but I am not optimistic at the moment.

I honestly think that the Europa would've been an albatross around our necks, and if we had progressed and if our season took a nose dive then messr's Gold & Sully would use it as an excuse. I would much rather concentrate on some domestic silverware.
I also agree that Nolan, Jarvis and especially Maiga are not good enough and hopefully Bilic and co. were using these games as a shop window for suitors.

What else does a midtable side have to look forward to though Burkie, Soton have the right attitude IMO, in fact Soton should be an example as to how a club can be run and still achieve

Of the posts on different threads i think youll find that there is a fair bit of criticism of slav already & the prem hasnt kicked off yet...i predict that if we have a slow start for the first few games then bilic will be slaughtered by some...

honestly talking, for the club L Europe was only one hitch. but does not for most of us fans, not expecting to get to the final, but at least in the group stage. I was disappointed in by the club for the approach used, I expected more interest. young people of the academy have done a good job, unfortunately it was not enough. But we had the the certainty that Randolph, Jarvis, Maiga and Nolan are not able to give us the reliability and quality
