well a bit of a mixed bag yesterday tbh. we started poorly as usual and went a goal down early. we then got a bit lucky with some poor keeping by them and we were ahead at the break. then calamity randolph throws their equaliser in the net. he may have made amends with a top class save later but it defeats the object when you have just gifted them one. maybe we should move for Hart as neither keeper is convincing anymore. overall though we did well. we didnt fall apart or bow to the Klopp intimidation. for me liverpool are not convincing, how anyone can keep talking about them winning the title i don't know. one thing though, is our shape. I'm not sure about it at all. the back 3 doesnt seem solid and we seem to be aimlessly moving around without any real purpose or structure. imo we'd be better off getting back to a solid back 4 and then playing a counter attack like last season. this formation doesnt seem to suit payet or lanzini. we have the players bilic just needs to organise them better. personally i think 4-2-3-1. with noble and obiang sitting deep to release payet, lanzini and antonio (or ayew) who sit behind caroll. fact is we can't defend to save our lives at the moment.

Good first half, rubbish second... the way Liverpool were allowed to pass the ball freely in our half and even in the box was unnacceptable. They should have had at least two more goals. Nearly all their players were up in attack and overrun our defence - with Reid and Ogbonna getting pulled all over the place. Nordrveit - the weak link, was getting skinned quite often but it wasn't his worst game. We need a proper RB comparable to Cresswells quality. Although saying that, he didnt have a great game, for Randolphs error that led to the goal, he should of been first on the ball ahead of Origi but stood there ball watching

Didnt we play a back 4 in this match Dicksy? Creswell, Ogbonna, Reid and Nordtveit... Obiang, Noble Ayew Payet and Lanzini in midfield and then Antonio up front

To draw 2-2 when we were playing 10 vs 11 (Nordshite excluded for obvious reasons) was an outstanding result. We MUST get a RB in though. We can't keep inviting them down our right all the time.

It did look like a 4231 though with nordshite at RB although they played like he wasn't there. Noble and Obiang holding. Payet, Lanzini in the middle and Antonio and Ayew interchanging quite a lot. I think that front 4 could be good and switch around quite a bit if they get settled there. I like Antonio up front. He has pace and he'll just keep on running and fighting. More of a handful and danger than most of our strikers except Sakho in my opinion. Also in my opinion, Carroll doesn't suit that system albeit a very good striker when fit but more dangerous when we get crosses going in the box. We never put crosses in the box when he came on.

Carroll was getting really frustrated about being isolated up there, especially as there was no one closing down or chasing the ball in support of his knock downs/attack. I think Antonio down well in that game but was helped by Liverpools keeper... Id like to see him have a few more games up front but I do think he is better on the wing and will score more goals from there as he can drive at defenders and appear inside the box or on the end of crosses. When he is the lone man or main striker, against a solid back four and keeper with a good command of the area, he gets marked out of the game and I think the one thing he might lack is a solid first touch that an out and out striker would have to be prolific in this position

His best position imo is up front, also id play 2 up front, cos we always seem to resort to hoofball when playing the lone striker!

As much as I like him he's technically inept. His brawn, pace and power, but ultimately his heading power make him undroppable, but a nightmare to include systematically.
He's a really unique player.
He needs to keep his feet on the ground and trust and listen to Slav.
