West Ham reminds me of a frustrated caged bird

Watching that second half against Villa proves to me that we have so much potential, that our players can cut it in the premiership and when they are allowed to fly they can do it pretty well.
Unfortunately even now when the season has almost finished Big Sam still feels the need to play defensively, but at least he allowed our players to show what they are capable of in that second half and it almost paid off.
It is painfully obvious that we have some decent attacking players in the squad and I feel confident that if they were playing attacking football more regularly they will be tighter and better at it and God how I wish they could be unleashed against the lower teams and all teams at home games to attack with belief and want, and show us all what they can do.
I am not blind and can see that Sam Allardyces hands are somewhat tied because of Injuries (Though even if he had a fully fit squad would he change things that much ?) my belief is that West Ham have a bright future and simply need 3-4 top notch players to become a top 6 team but Nolan has to go possibly even Noble too maybe not next year for him though, a few difficult decisions have to be made if West Ham wish to step up but to make those decisions we have to play more positively so we can see who can cut it and who cannot, our biggest problem is lack of pace and a few players probably the ones I have mentioned may be the problem.
Downing too I am not sure about but he gets moved around like a rubiks cube if he is played as he was when we were playing well then he is a leader in attack though where that leader is now God knows.

Until you get an attack minded manager with a different philosophy things won't change. How delightful to see Grealish having vision for such a young player. His running into spaces is something sadly lacking in our side. Nene looks to have something about him so should get more play time.

Our players are not allowed to run into space they have to wait for the opposition to do that then look to close them down. It's called defending the draw. Sam loves it. Problem is as soon as they score we're effete cos he has no idea how to attack!

I try my best not to go for Big Sams throat every time but your right and so am i these players need a more attack minded manager to flourish.
We truly have some decent attacking players which is good to see and the future is bright but it will be more difficult without as you say a more attack minded coach.

i didn't watch the match yesterday , it was a nice day and i got the grass cut , i just couldn't be arsed , another thing that bugs me is when we play Villa and Burnley at their place and they wear the claret it plays havoc with the old brain cells , does this happen to anyone else ?, drives's me up the wall , for instance they were making a couple of subs yesterday and while the camera focused on them i said to myself " who the fuck are these guy's , when did we sign new players " i remember a couple of years ago Villa scored and i jumped up cheering , even Molly looked at me as if i'd taken leave of my senses ,

Happens to me also, Burkie. At the start of the game yesterday, the claret and blue shirts almost immediately from the kick off went back to the keeper. I was shouting: "that's right Sam, turn attack into defence straight away!" I quickly realised that was NOT Adrian kicking the ball out! Oops...

Sounds like you and Prime minister Cameron might get on mate. LOL.

I have pretended that Claret and Blue teams are West Ham but stopped doing that when I was 12-14 years old, though I do see your point I did not mind too much that we lost 1-0 yesterday, they did give us our colours.
