All Roads Lead To Nowhere In Manager Hunt!

West Ham United were famous for their 'scatter gun' approach to signing strikers before the arrival of Tim Steidten, however his balanced and intuitive approach doesn't seem to have been adopted when it comes to replacing David Moyes!

Instead of the 'Steidten way' of getting things done quickly with the minimum amount of fuss and 'public' sharing, the search for a new manager has become the exact antipathies of the Steidten way.

Majority shareholder David Sullivan has adopted the 'hands on' approach that many people thought and hoped we had seen the last of, with cavalcades of potential suitors travelling to either gnome towers in Theydon Bois or The still unnamed Stadium in Stratford for 'meaningful' and constructive meetings.

Virtually any manager with a pulse has been linked to the club in the last ten days and it is difficult to see any change in the near future. The managerial runners and riders have changed constantly on a daily basis with at least a dozen faces in the frame!

Apparently the emphasis has now shifted back on to Lopetegui who many fans had hoped would be managing in Italy next season, his dour defensive approach making him a Moyes 2:0 but with a foreign accent!

The list is so endless it is perhaps better to list those who aren't in the frame! The club's public flirtation with so many managers has a whiff of the old smoke and mirrors about it that is usually associated with the club around season ticket renewal time.

Don't be surprised if the club announce an extension to incumbent manager Moyes' current contract eventually, something along the lines of "having evaluated all the managers out there we have decided to stick with David Moyes who has brought a sustained level of success and stability to the club since his arrival"

Be careful what you do and don't wish for! - Ed

I'm taking much of this managerial rumour mongering with a pinch of salt. For all we know Steidten may be quietly working in the background whilst the media scareboys try to get him to show his hand. I might take it a bit more seriously when it is written in stone that Moyes is either sacked/left/contract not extended.Behind the scenes is still murky, is Sullivan selling up, are we buying up the London Stadium, is there anybody coming in with regards to giving the stadium naming rights and what is Kretinskey even doing assuming he's still there.
I'm not wishing for much really, just some half decent football to watch. Yes that may not be the route to Premier League Champions or European football on a regular basis, it may even mean buggering about with relegation battles. I'd be more than happy with the odd decent League Cup or FA Cup run and screwing over the top clubs efforts to be champions once in a while as long as it is worth watching.
We've had the Allardyce era, a necessary evil but from then on we should have moved forward. We haven't. We've stagnated albeit with better footballers but no improvement on the field

14th of June is when the transfer window opens and rumour is Sullivan will be sitting down with Moyes at the start of June to "discuss" his position.
Sullivan should have already got the new manager signed and sealed before then because whoever it is has a massive rebuild job on there hands because of Moyes total ineptness regarding transfers.
So the new man will have to look over the squad and Academy players make decisions on who he wants to keep and let Steidten get on with finding the players we are going to need in what i predict to be a very hard season for us.
Of course this is West Ham and we all know how Sullivan works or rather does not work so chaos ahead for the good ship West Ham Utd as we try to navigate what will be the most difficult summer and finding a new manager is just going to be the start.

I have a nasty feeling that Sullivan will bottle it and stick with the Moyesasaurus.

Gnome towers in Theydon Bois... that made me laugh. Hasn't been mentioned in years, not since the banner outside saying "Fat Sam Out"

Is there a search party out looking for the invisible man Kreitinsky? Where is he when the big decisions are being made? Knew he would be a waste of space, purely a business transaction, no interest in the club and will wait until the club value reaches the £B mark and he will be OFFSKI!!!

I still believe Moyes will walk away at the end of the season. He probably has irons in the fire "no pun intended". People are talking him up for a big job ("WTF is West Ham then")?

Celtic possibly? A sabbatical for a few months, then evaluate his offers.

He'll be gone, he cant take many more questions about his future. These would ultimately go on into next season. A bad start to the campaign, endless speculation. I'm sure he does not need that. What's he gonna do? Ask a female reporter if she wants a slap again?

Oi big boy, what's your name?

You mentioned the Scattergun approach, it now appears the same approach is to be deployed in the pursuit of a new manager. Amarim, Lopetegui, just for once it would be nice to see a stern hand take control, without the in fighting between Moyes and Steidten and possibly Noble throwing tantrums, FFS this club will never be run properly with Sullivan there, always making the club look 2-bob.
