Ruben Amorim Release Clause Reduced With One Condition

Sporting Lisbon are willing to accept HALF of the supposed €20 Million release clause in their manager's contract, contrary to the reports all over the British media. However there will be NO confirmed movement until Sporting have completed their season and wrapped up another top of the table finish, which would be their THIRD in a row!

It is understood the Sporting hierarchy are well aware of Amorim's desire to manage in the Premier League and have offered him a 'route back' if things go pear shaped. Going to a relatively low profile club like West Ham will prevent other more elite clubs from grabbing him on long lucrative contracts.

It is believed they are willing to let the 40 year old go for €10 Million with the condition that he returns to Porto first after his contract finishes, they insist on this option which Ruben Amorim is believed to be considering along with his advisors.

Incidentally, reports that his meeting with Hammers supremo David Sullivan are also wide of the mark, the pair enjoyed a 'cordial' meeting where it was decided that it would be better to wait until the end of the season before further talks, so the meeting was seen as a 'pointer' rather than a full blown interview.

Hammers stalwart Mark Noble and Director of football Tim Steidten BOTH want the club to go for Ruben Amorim, as opposed to the other main candidate, Julen Lopetgui who is being pushed by Will Salthouse, Sullivan's 'old mucker' who brought Lucas Paqueta to the club.

Hammerscould have handled the situation better had they sat down with David Moyes and been a little more direct instead of hedging their bets! But it is what it is and now the whole circus is in the public domain, it is to be hoped that some clarification arrives sooner rather than later.

Defeat at the Bridge today would remove any vague chance of European qualification for next season and may be the key to ending Moyes' tenure officially in order that he can get the send off he thoroughly deserves in the club's final home game against Luton next week. - Ed

Makes perfect sense Nev. I really hope we get Amorim. Any player here, or future signing would love to play for him. Notwithstanding, he would probably sign and bring with him Goncalves, or possibly Gyokeres.

Season tickets would go through the roof. What a signing this could be!!

Oi big boy, what's your name?

Agree there boogs but surely any manager coming in is goin to be intimidated by the sheer amount of money its goin to take to rebuild this team ,in my opinion with the exception of Alveraz ,kudus, Bowen and J W P,they they all can hit the road , Gratitude to Ant in particular, what a servent to the club he's been ,a solid grafter, and some memorable goals, he's just not prem material anymore, Emerson has showed signs his game was improving but of late he has taken a turn for the worst , Souchec ?,dont get me started and even his fellow countryman Coufal is not up to scratch anymore .
You find yourself pulling your hair out at some of Dinos decisions some times ,like thinking he's goin to change thing by introducing Cress and Ings , two 32 and 34 year olds .
The damage that maneger has done to this club is goin to last a long time ,anyone coming in is goin to need time and she'd loads of dosh .
