Last night my local team Burton Albion played for the first time a rearrange game against Millwall. with 2,888 fans turning up on a cold night and 700 traveling up from the eastend to Burton
- I didn't go myself but a few diehards at work this morning were telling us there match reports.
- Being a hammer my name cropped up ?? but when I heard why I had to laugh, Albion were 2-0 up with 15 mins to go when the brewers fans started sing the bubbles............only for Millwall to score straight away :-)...it shut the brewers up for the last squeaky bum 15 mins but the finished 2-1 and top of league 1.....One of the lads who plays in the albion youth team lives on my round and I saw him this morning cleaning his car, he asked me if it was me that started the bubbles off knowing that I support WH...Made me smile on what was a very busy day today at the Royal mail......
goes to show
the power of the bubbles anthem and the effect it can have !!!!!!!c.o.y.i
They do say
That the mighty hammers are everyones fave 2nd team!!
some great banter
I'll tell you what mate the number of neutral fans on my delivery round that were so pleased when we beat the mighty City, 'Pool, Chelski and the Gooners.....some might not be too pleased if the Rams get promoted for next season :-)

Postman bonzo! Pity you this
Postman bonzo! Pity you this month I was a postman till last year, had to take medical retirement to to chronic pelvic problems cause thro work. Most relentless job ever had. Enjoyed it but it's getting impossible to do now.
15 yrs
been doing the job 15 yrs now...I had 12 yrs as a meter reader for the leccky board so I had an advantage in knowing the area ( as you know redneck is a big help )..
15 years you need to be in
15 years you need to be in the birthday honours list! I did 8 and was hoping to go on till I retired but not in the way I did.
moaners
most staff moan about the job, me I don't mind ( take the rough with the smooth ) I worked in a print factory for 8 yrs when I left school so working outdoors is great......I'm lucky in the round I have ( 8 yrs on the same patch ) and the customers I've got are great this time of the year ( and the footy banter as well ).. The only downside is that I have a day off once a week so 1 Saturday in 6, I'm buggered in getting to some matches at WH....
You sound like me bonzo! I
You sound like me bonzo! I was a printer (over 15 years) ended up wanting to work outside as a result and also worked as a meter reader ( at water board). Being out on the round was the best part for me.
