Declan Rice Is Still Undecided!

The domestic transfer window doesn't even open until the 14th of June and the window for the rest of Europe not until Saturday the 1st of July, but that hasn't stopped frenzied 'click baiting' on an industrial scale occurring.

From vast amounts of media reports and 'insider' information, if you had believed all you see and hear Hammers captain Declan Rice would have been sold five times over to three different clubs!

Playing The Field

Hammers majority shareholder David Sullivan is well known for 'taking a punt' but he also likes boxing and film making, so what does a gambling man with a love of pugilism and celluloid do when he has at his disposal a business 'win win' situation?

Well to continue with the euphemisms he takes a big gamble, fights to the last round and goes public with his inner most workings.

That is exactly what the Hammers supremo has done recently, by going public with his "Declan will most likely go" statement Sullivan has, in his mind, prepped potential buyers and prepared crestfallen fans in one fell swoop to expect the club captain's departure.

Things aren't always as they seem however, there is a distinct possibility that Declan Rice might want to stay on at the club for another YEAR! Yes another year, now that would surely be a fly in the ointment for the Irons supremo wouldn't it? It appears the major force behind Dec's leaving the club is NOT the player, but the board and Mr Sulivan himself.

By playing the "He has given his all for the club and lost £10 Million in wages card" Mr Sullivan has shown his hand in gambling terms, the logic is clearly simple whereby the club gets a pile if loot to fund the coming season's recruitment drive while also admonishing Sullivan from any blame for the situation.

Smoke and Mirrors

Perhaps there are no mirrors or smoke involved, so why on earth go public and let the world and his uncle know the outline of your future plans? Declan himself has NOT confirmed his departure, that is not to say he is staying for another but if he was definitely 100%going he would have said so by now.

Some may view this opinion as clutching at straws, however perhaps Declan Rice is that rare breed of person who puts integrity above gain? Lionel Messi is going to Inter Miami instead of joining 'inter galactic paying' Al Ittihad, turning down ridiculous money in place of playing where he wants, so why not Decs?

"It ain't over 'til the Fat Lady sings" may not be politically correct, but neither are most of the middle eastern countries that are currently offering huge payments to players. We are not suggesting Rice has been offered lucrative contracts by Gulf States, but they do fund some of Europe biggest clubs.

Reports regarding Declan Rice's departure from West Ham are a free hit for media outlets and are needed by journalists and bloggers to keep up their click rate. Perhaps people should take these 'previous' reports with a large pinch of salt, at least until the window actually opens. - Ed

Sullivan is always on about us being a big club so why not show it? Declan whether he stays or goes as a fan you accept it but staying another year would only harm the clubs coffers but i think will help his development enormously because like many i do not begrudge a player of his ability wanting and needing champions league football but at Arsenal seriously he would play 4/5 games at most in that competition and no guarantee he would be playing in it the season after.
Hopefully he stays as he truly does seem to Love our club so let Sullivan sweat over finding money to fund our transfer activity this summer and bring in players to help strengthen and compliment what Declan brings to the club.

That poisonous little dwarf has been banging on for years that we are a big club well prove it! Go and buy his best friend Mason Mount ... that would keep him for a few years!!!

Is not in the same league as Messi in the money stakes (not saying he;s short of a bob or two), nor is he in the same league as Messi in the trophy room. I can only see two clubs that would make sense for him to leave and Arsenal isn't one of them. West Ham could well end up playing Arsenal in Europe next season because I can't see Arsenal getting beyond the group stages myself and therefore will drop to Europa. Now THERE'S an interesting thought.

Surprise me if we did turn em over even with Dec! A lot of good points lately about the arse not doing great in the CLetc...Will they pay 100 mill for him? Debatable imo someone said about citeh buying then loaning him to us....fecking brill!! Sully would be happy with that...lol

I guess it's all down to his agent and advisors. Clearly he loves West Ham, at such a young age to be the centre of all things West Ham, Captain and an England regular.

He would seem to have the world at his feet.

The dildo one has dug Dec out and seemingly thrown him under the bus, along with the bathwater. Could Dec stay another year? Just to piss off Sullivan. Who is already rubbing his hands at the transfer fee.

He's won a trophy and got Europa League football. Captain of the club who would get a great reception everytime he played at home!!!

Go on Dec, be a devil, stay and leave on a free...!!!

A lot of the Irish dont like him for turning jis back , and dont rate.him that high as a result ,personally i think anyone that thinks he should have stayed with the republic is delusional .i rate him in the top 10 in the world ,why would he stay with the Irish.
I'll say one thing though he's a devil for taking a long time to make his mind up.

Agree NB, top ten in the world, he is world class and that for me means he can get in any team. I see in gossip media that City are showing interest, I have consistany said they will march in with an offer that will blast Arsenal out the water and maybe, just maybe allow Dec a seasons loan at West Ham... watch this space.

At an international level its a joke to treat any nation with distain using them like a stepping stool to something better that might come up. Bit like choosing your Mrs, get married but get an easy divorce is a better looking model becomes available. Its not just Ireland that gets this treatment from "plastic Paddys", seen in France etc switching from some African no hopers to the French national team.
