Continuing with our Western vernacular of the Three Wheels on my Wagon, we again find ourselves in 'Bandit' territory with 'Marshall Moyes' attempting to keep the press and public at bay from his fort in the east end.

Security has been tightened in Moyes' tower block ahead of possible insurgences by 'the disgruntled', of which there are many! Even the lovely Mrs Moyes has been instructed with and made aware of the defensive capabilities of a frozen Haggis taken straight out of the freezer should the outer perimeter defences be penetrated.

These are indeed tough times for the beleaguered Hammers manager, and yet those persistent voices in his head keep on telling him that a couple of 'big wins' will be all that it takes to calm the circling 'natives'.

Even the sound reduction in his Bentley SUV is not enough to blot out the anger of restless fans as they vent their anger in his direction. However is it Moyes' fault in its entirety that the fans are 'gunning' for him? Surely the board are at the very least a bit culpable for the events unfolding now?

If they had 'pulled the trigger' at the end of last season things could have worked out SO differently and for the good! Moyes could have walked away, head held high and breezed into the Celtic job just like that, Hammers could have moved on by appointing a new  'progressive' manager who could have worked with Tim Steidten and everything would have been relatively 'tickety boo' in the Hammers 'Happy Garden'.

Instead, whether by indecision or fear of being 'Pellegrinied' again, the club chose to stick with Moyes despite the dreadful football he had overseen, the drosness of which was only papered over by 'that night in Prague'.

There is no use in crying over spilled milk, other clubs have completely sussed out Moyesball, just as they did last season, hence the dramatic drop off in form, As others have mentioned, Lucas Paqueta is only ONE player and cannot be expected to drag the club out of the mire, although you can 'bet your house' that he will try!

The Board MUST learn and go hell for leather for a manager to take the club forward, and that manager is not the arrogant sod who sat before you in his post Notts forest presser! -LN

In keeping with your theme Louis, we have Calamity Dave at the reigns and General Sully Custer giving direction. We the Indians in the shape of VERY disgruntled fans are starting to encircle the wagons and the Battle of Little Bowl of Misery will kick off very soon.

Moyesball can work, its ugly but we have seen the results. It worked very well during covid with high tempo players such as Lingard, Rice and Antonio and Bowen on Fire. With Slowczech and James Pass Back-Prowse this will NEVER work, add to that another defensive midfielder Phillips and you have a recipe for a disaster. Pochettino has introduced this at Chelsea when playing the top teams, worked at Spudz and very nearly at City but they have the quality and pace to make it happen.

Yes, the board have to take some level of responsibility. As it is they who run the club.

But Moyes picks the team. What sort of arrogance does it show, when he picks the same back 4. The back 4 that shipped 6 goals against the Arse. To go back out there again and nearly ship another hatful!

Surely Ogbonna could have come in or Alvarez drop in or something. But to me it was sticking 2 fingers up to the fans. Saying "it's my team I'll pick who I want regardless".

"I've dragged this club up the league with top 8 finishes and a trophy". I am the Moyesiah, I will not curtail to the great unwashed!!

He's a narcissistic klint!!!
