In a major newsfeed poll, 77% of viewers believe and hope Gareth Southgate will hand Michail Antonio his first England start, the former Nottingham Forest winger has been challenged to maintain his performances by manager Slaven Bilic after scoring five goals in seven Premier League games. Such has been Antonio's impact during his first season and during this season despite West Ham's woeful start he could earn himself his second new deal in a year, he only signed a new four year contract with the club in July of this year in recognition of his debut season, and it appears the Hammers hierarchy could improve that deal even further if he is able to maintain his consistency this season.
Slaven Bilic revealed last month that he held talks with Antonio following his debut call-up to ensure he keeps his feet on the ground. He said: “We’ve had a few talks. Make no mistake, he was confident before, he's a very confident lad.
“All he has to do now is not to change - not to change the way he plays, the way he trains, everything, and we have to help him with that.”
Antonio’s form saw him break into the England squad after being called up during the short reign of Sam Allardyce, whose successor Gareth Southgate, looks set to continue showing belief in this rising star of the East End. - Ed

England games are a waste of time.

Yes, 9 times out of 10 we qualify for tournaments but we do it against the lesser teams like Malta that offer zero competition and we do it at a snails pace. We do it with not the 'in form" players but the players the manager likes or the ones at the 'big' clubs. It's ridiculous and we need to change this philosophy. Players are guaranteed a place in the squad even if they've not played 90 minutes in a season (Wilshere) and this has to stop. Antonio top scorer for the start of the season and doesn't even get a minute on the pitch just goes to show how clicky this f***ing team is, no matter who the manager is. I gave up being excited to watch these games over 10 years ago and until something drastically changes, I'' really not interested.

Another game on the bench for our man Antonio... shipped out to deepest darkest Slovenia only to watch a stale draw from the sidelines. They should of just left him at home instead of getting the lads hopes up
