Mikey Antonio is jetting off to play 3 games in 6 days for Jamaica-madness!

Someone somewhere needs their head examining for handing Mikey Antonio a new improved contract extension without insisting he give up his International commitments to Jamaica, it surely MUST have been a mandatory requirement hat he retire from International football as part of his deal.

"West Ham" (CC BY 2.0) by Matt From London
A trip to the Europa League this season has given West Ham the European bug. On top of that, they are playing more than well enough to realistically challenge for a spot in Europe every year. So, are West Ham now a team that should target Europe every single season?

They don't come much bigger than Jorge Mendes' Gestifute agency for footballers, based in Portugal they are the go to Agency for BIG players. Their client list is like a who's who of 'name' footballers including, Rúben Dias Bernardo Silva, Fabinho, João Cancelo, Diogo Jota, Ederson, Rúben Neves, André Silva, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pedro Neto and Renato Sanches among others!

Murmurings about Hammers lack of recruitment during this transfer window have grown increasingly louder as the days tick by, the facts are simple but the reasons multitudinous as to why exactly David Moyes has failed to sanction even ONE transfer so far.

Unless the financial backing available from the board is pure fabrication, which we very much doubt, then the only reasons must be three fold. Either the players available aren't good enough, or they are too expensive or currently unavailable and can only be signed in the next window.

Whether you like it or loathe it, VAR is here to stay and all its outcomes will continue to have massive consequences on important games. The more contentious decisions usually get wall to wall coverage due to the TV exposure, but there will be many reading this article who haven't actually seen the VAR decision that allowed the hosts 95th minute goal to stand when it looked very much as if it was offside, this is because the Broadcasters elected NOT to show the game live in the UK meaning the only live viewers were 'pirates'!

It is unfair to single out one player for criticism following Hammers excrutiating last 30 seconds of injury time defeat at Old Trafford, but as is the way of fans who have just seen their team have a valuable point snatched away, many are blaming Ryan Fredericks for Hammers leaving without a point having kept the home team at bay for the entire game until he replaced Vladimir Coufal at rightback.

Although he was reserved, some might even say recalcitrant, when asked how he felt about taking his team to Old Trafford having had such a poor time there as a manager, there was a certain gleam in his steely blue eyes that hinted that he indeed DID have some very strong thoughts on the matter, but as is his way he chose to stone wall the questioning.

Hammers supporters of a certain age grew up with the understanding that when a game involving West Ham was labelled a 'six pointer', it was a reference to a game full of jeopardy in which the loser continues their perilous decent into the relegation zone.
