To Be Known Or Unknown?

It’s become widely recognised and regarded by the fans that in this upcoming summer transfer window, we are in need of yet another supposed ‘rebuild’. A wide range of players are set to leave with a few out of contract and a few on the chopping block.

We already received numerous proposals for players in the January window with a few of them ready to be revisited come June, such as Monaco’s interest in Edson Alvarez.

For many many years now, Hammers fans have been crying out for a manager who utilises the youth to a good extent rather than giving them one or two appearances and then leaving them on the bench to either rot away on a loan spell or have their contract run down.

And for a few returning players come the summer, it is a ‘do or die’ situation. Especially for Freddie Potts, with this being his second successful loan spell in a row and his talent levels current and potential far beyond what we currently have, you would be shocked if he wouldn’t be included in next season’s plans.

Graham Potter and Kyle Macauly have to clean up Jules’ mess that he left in January, and a few players you’d imagine will maintain their ‘welcoming stay’, such as Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, along with a small handful of others.

If we were to go off history and what the past tells us, we couldn’t imagine that in the summer we would be linked with many ‘senior’ players. A younger team will be aimed at from more obscure locations and leagues than what we are used to, with West Ham recently viewing players from Denmark and both the German & French lower-tier leagues.

Let’s hope we don’t continue to spend ludicrous money on Bundesliga players!

A summer clear out is in order and no sentiment to some players we need to be ruthless now and clear all dead wood and older players here is my long list.Fabranski,Coufal,Emerson,Mavropranos,Aguerd,Cornet,Soler,Rodriguez,Ings,Antonio,Fullkrug,Alvarez,Ward prowse,Cresswell,Kudus, should get some money regarding some of those players and a good saving on wages then get younger hungary players in?

Once this season is over. Potter gets to build his team as he sees it. He will know who he wants. Who he intends to develop. More importantly who he no longer wants. Or intends to use.

Thankfully he has come along with enough time left and with nothing to play for. No threat of relegation. In fact this could end up being the perfect scenario.

Reason being there will be no need to panic Mr Mainwaring. There will I suspect be comings and goings and a drafting of youth promoted into the mix.

I see nothing except positivity, the only stumbling block as always. Will be midget porn and the gang. When it comes to purse strings...

In the Premier League and for every youngster yo bring in you lose that vital bit of experience. Fabianski for example, may be old but he is no mug and his experience is vital. Scarles is benefitting massively from having Cresswell behind him, same with Kudus having Wan Bissaka or Coufal there.
You want to play the likes of Scarles, Potts, Guilherme, Irving, Orford all any point and I'd lay odds we'd be in the bottom three in next to no time.
Scarles looks promising and is now getting valuable Premier League experience with little to no pressure on him due to results. For all the bigging up of young Freddie Potts, he's only been playing at Wycombe and Portsmouth in the obscure divisions which I might add, seems to be where nearly all our academy players seem to end up if not rotting on other teams benches such as Ashby or Mubama.
