Divine Mukasa’s destiny unknown as clause included in Hammers loan

West Ham United over the summer brought back academy prospect Divine Mukasa on loan from Manchester City and so far he has had an impressive stint since returning in a Claret and Blue shirt to which many are suggesting that the Hammers need to buy the midfielder for next season, especially if promotion to the Premier League is achieved.

The Mukasa deal when it occurred happened in a matter of hours and a deal was incredibly simple to conclude as West Ham did NOT include a buy option of any sort, meaning it was a straight loan for a year… but that doesn’t paint the full picture.

Upon Mukasa joining Manchester City, the Hammers included a 25% sell-on clause, meaning should a deal be struck for the East London local the Hammers will receive back 25% of what they are offering. A significant positive.

It should be mentioned that no discussions of a deal have taken place and uncertainty is high given that the future of Manchester City is unknown, with a threat looming of being dropped to the Championship.

Going back to the Englishman, he so far has achieved 3 goals in 9 Championship appearances, already beating his Leicester City goal record from last season, demonstrating his growth.

It’s far too early to start to suggest transfer fees. However, should the Hammers decide to pursue Mukasa, who is eager to return to West Ham, a discounted deal will head our way.

Anyone who is a fan of ours that I know can't speak highly enough of Mukasa. Myself included. I think if he wants to come back to us, then we are in the driving seat to take him back. Maybe the picture will be come clearer come January. Citeh will know their fate by then I believe?
