West Ham United signed El-Hadji Malick Diouf last summer for £19m plus add-ons, which weren’t achieved throughout that season. Malick Diouf was bought by Graham Potter as he was deemed to be a perfect fit for a ‘Potter System’.
Diouf was a player who struggled to find consistent form and ultimately weaved in and out of having good performances. Despite going away for the World Cup and coming back to the squad during pre-season and showing that he wanted to play for the club, it seems that his head has turned and he has ultimately decided that he wants to move on from West Ham.
As alluded to a couple of days ago, West Ham United have officially sold Diouf to Brentford for a deal worth £40,000,000. The initial fee will be £35,000,000, and there’s a possible £5,000,000 that could be achieved in the future.
The Hammers will now seek a replacement for Malick Diouf and now hope to sign three players within the remaining week of the transfer window, with a left-back, centre-back and a midfielder being the priority.

I am sure with better coaching he will become a much better player but for us he was not great at all so he will not be missed.....Scarles is good enough as long as it is defending not being asked to play so far up and chase back it is not his game and it shows...but i guess some broken down ex prem player on huge wages will be available.

myself over Scarles. Not sure what has happened to Olly but he seems to have suffered a massive confidence crash since that error last season against Fulham with no consoling from our captain.

Though Mayers is more a Cb than Left back..And Scarles has had a rough ride i mean sending him out to mark Salah on his own was a poor managerial decision and yes like you mentioned he did not get much help after that error in the Fulham game but one good thing is he knows when he has made a mistake and does not hide....but a WB he most definitely is not.
