Enforcement Over Reinforcement

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 14/07/2026 - 09:21

Whilst many fans amongst the Hammers fanbase have been furious at the lack of movement in players since being relegated, a delight has appeared around the corner regarding current players that are expected to stay.

The big lingering question that has loomed above West Ham's heads for weeks is ‘will Jarod Bowen play at West Ham in the Championship?’ - Well, an answer is here. Jarrod Bowen is set to announce himself, making a statement that will confirm he will be staying at West Ham. Whilst it has taken some time, he’s concluded that this is the best decision for him and that the club are willing to provide him with what he wants.

But what does he want? That is unknown. What we do know is that Jarrod Bowen won’t be receiving a 50% wage reduction as all others are and it’s thought that he has been promised by the club that reinforcements will be made and signed to ensure West Ham get back to the Premier League.

Jarrod Bowen confirming his eventual stay is on the top of the iceberg, beneath it, it is said that both Konstantinos Mavropanos and Taty Castellanos will remain at West Ham. Both players are comfortable with remaining in Claret & Blue colours and will look to stay at the club.

However, it is worth noting that whilst Jarrod Bowen will be staying regardless, should a behemoth of an offer come in for any other player, they could possibly move away due to the need for money to help finances and reinvest of course.

There’s a lot of ‘ifs’ but this confirmation is hopefully a key to unlocking many more possibilities in the near future.

I do feel there is a definite shift in the club now. That being the ambition to succeed at last. Moreover convincing core players to give it a shot, at least until January.

In Bowens case the club has shown if it comes off. That Bowen is the key to everything. Therefore will give him what he requires. Also, as Captain of the club, before the season starts. He will be loosely sounded out on who may come and who may go. A rare inclusion these days with Captain status. But as has been said, the board are literally pushing the boat out, in Bowens case. It is an exceptional circumstance. For an exceptional footballer in this division.

I genuinely think there is a close bond between the players at the club. Add into that Disasi. Who has given the squad an aura, and comradery. That will be integral to the season.

I'm quietly confident of keeping everyone that matters, and adding a couple of gems before kick off...COYI

Sorry for the language boys but this player just gets on my nipps. He does not want to come back and play for us and his agent and club have come to an agreement with Koln and now he is kicking off about the wage and wanting more!! well he can do one as far as i am concerned let him rot on half wages if that is the case a bloody liability of a player a guaranteed red card if ever their was one and he does like an injury,He did not have a bad first season with us but talk about someone who thinks his shit does not smell well he can FUCK OFF out of the club go back to mexico you overrated over the hill wanker.

Glad i got that off my chest i feel so much better now.

Deep breath and now for Fulkrug! lol naa i will leave that one for someone else.

I get the impression he's not on your Christmas card list :o)

Agree on all fronts.

First season he was good, prepared to put a foot in and great work rate. The last season he was being booked and sent off purely for being too slow for the prem. I think he could have done a job in the Chumps league but he was never the future.

FC Koln is a big club and fierce loyal local working class support, start moaning about wages etc and I guarantee the fans will turn on him.

Will be the answer to the Championship. Personally, I'd move him on whilst he still has a bit of value which won't be much which is why he probably isn't going anywhere. Was a waste of space for the second part of last season when needed to step up to the post.
THanks for the memories Jarrod, but time moves on and I doubt he will be in anyones first eleven of all time greatest Hammers.

I feel keeping Jarod is a fantastic "signing" for a championship club, it shows intent and will attract other players recognising that they have a captain who recently was an England player.

The future's bright ... Its Claret n Blue!!!
