Hammers High End Hunt

Three days remain of the January transfer window and as expected by many Hammers fans there has been little if any transfer activity, the 'mission' handed down by the Moyesiah has been one of acquiring quality, not quantity. So recent rumours of 'Huge'(o) offers for players have more credibility than transfer rumours that USED to emanate from the club, before the 58 year old Scot's 2nd coming.

Sometimes the detail can get lost in the translation when it comes to transfers involving non domestic players, the confusion between terminology and currencies adds to the mix with an end result of increased vagueness and lack of accurate authentication.

Hugo Ekitike is one 'high end' player who David Moyes has been keeping an eye on, the 19 year old Reims striker has been compared to Thierry Henry by many and is expected to progress into being one of Europe's finest forwards. Reims want around €40 million for Ekitike which is not a lot of money for a State or Oligarch owned club, but it is a bit rich for West Ham, especially given the player's inexperience of the Premier League which can be brutal to newcomers.

The other rumoured 'high end' target of David Moyes is Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, he is currently away at AFCON so as far as we are concerned there is no substance to that particular rumour as it would be virtually impossible to arrange a full and proper medical before January 31st during the tournament.

The £50 Million is more than likely the COMBINED total of offers made for THREE players that has just been used for a bit of media bait. Word iS that a Caleta Car from Marseille deal is still tentatively possible, IF it were to happen there is EVERY likelihood that Issa Diop WILL get sold to Newcastle in order to fund the transfer, now this one REALLY DOES have legs.

Don't be at all surprised to see Hammers sell one centre back and replace him with another, but don't expect much more, because if you do, you will surely be disappointed come 11PM on Monday evening when the lights will NOT be burning brightly for last minute deals. - Ed

Why is it that EVERY transfer window be it January or the summer, do we end up with last minute purchases (loans)?
I’m sick and tired of it.
For a club that has European aspirations it BEGGARS BELIEF!
Our squad has been shown to be wafer thin (once again!) when it comes to injuries, yet there seems to be NO urgency to add to it.
