West Ham United have recently made their interest known in Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood. The New Zealand international is 34 years of age but is held in high regard by Nuno and could be a cheap addition towards our Championship squad.
Nuno most recently enjoyed a successful spell with Chris Wood at Nottingham Forest, a campaign where, despite him being injured for a significant period, he still set the Premier League alight.
Clearly, the logic here, given that we are in the Championship, if we are trying to sign a player who is like Chris Wood… then why don’t we just buy Chris Wood?
Whether he will want to make a step down to the Championship is an unknown, but he’s now fallen out of favour at Nottingham Forest, meaning Nuno might be able to convince him to make a move in the end.
West Ham United are hoping that Daniel Kretinsky’s convincing of the players will see a majority remain, specifically Taty Castellanos as well as Callum Wilson, who has a pending contract offer on the table, but news has gone quiet over Pablo, who is a target for Wolves, as well as many Italian clubs.
Strikers aren’t the primary target, but if an opportunity opens for Nuno to sign Chris Wood for a cheap fee, it could be a win-win situation, one that’ll certainly bolster the front line for the Championship.

Cant see zee german staying
Short term
Yes but will still need another as this is West Ham and with our history of players getting long term Romford Radiation we need more, that is of course presuming Tatty and Pablo both go.
In other news Summervilles value is sky rocketing and the seriously big clubs in Europe now circling so £50million is not cutting it its going to be something like £70/5 million.
Buying players on the back of a few world cup performances is always a minefield lets just hope they concentrate on just that and not look at his injury record.
