Football agents of the world rejoice, David Sullivan is back at the helm of West Ham United transfers, cue Willy Mc Kay and Barry Silkman's dubious presence! It had to be, back in his preferred role as a wheeler dealer, but sadly lacking an Ed China, as does Mike Brewer, he is going to get 'gobbled up' without even realising it.
Despite all the negative criticism aimed at David Sullivan, he doesn't as far as we know kill children or use forced labour, so when rumours began to emerge, both denied and accepted in equal measure, that Marseille's Dimitri Payet might be on his way back to the London Stadium began to gather momentum, the smackings of a 'Sullivanesque' transfer were plain to see.
Buy for £10.5 Million, sell for £25 Million and then get back on a free, happy Sullivan days! It is not as if the situation is unique, ex manager Manuel Pellegrini consulted the squad on his appointment with regards at whether a return of Payet would be approved, and the overwhelming answer was yes.
Essentially recruiting Payet on a loan deal would be a complete no brainer, all of those who called Payet a snake would quickly forget that moniker as soon as he delivered a killer pass or scored an insane free kick.
Payet and Sullivan are ideal bedfellows, the rat and the snake, and if a certain person had been able to limit his indulgences in certain off field activities, the separation need never had happened in the first place. Bring Payet back, you betcha, and in their heart, the vast majority of Hammers fans would agree. - Ed

sorry Nev
But i totally disagree...whilst i see why the club would for the the financial reasons behind the deal as a supporter how can you get behind a player who REFUSED to play for us not injured not out of form but REFUSED to play for us that is unforgivable imo and i would not welcome that RAT back.
The real reason Payet left
The real reason Payet left relates to some non football related activities that his Mrs got very angry about
Agree mac
Even though the club is a shambles at the moment, have some dignity I say...great player for us 3 years ago,but refused to play & put the team right in it.reeks of desperation as usual from this board
Who we gonna get??
That fancies a relegation battle even if Payet is the wrong side of 30 and we beat Brighton, Draw Man Citeh and beat Southampton all will be forgotten, lose all 3of these and we are gone 30, 000 in the fishbowl, no atmosphere- left with the deadwood and a long time before we get back. Yes, there are players out there but how many want to take a wage cut next year? The only chance you got is is older players like and hope they can keep us up and not treat our club like a holiday camp. Zabs aint doing bad, 4 games in 2 weeks, he can't keep it up forever but if we can get up to 13th or14th at the end of the season that is all we can hope for- but a big ask its all about confidence, Still got Norwich, Burnley, and Villa all do able if wekeep our nerve and show a bit of grit.
yes agree
with cast iron any port in a storm but how do you get players to show passion and grit !!!! does that come through the fans at the game ? cheering and singing and encouraging the players and will that build confidence may be i don't know .
Like all west ham fans i
Like all west ham fans i ranked him up there with the best ,Paolo, Brooking ,Bondsy ,but 3 years later how much of the majic has he left ?,i also agree that what he did was at the time unforgivable ,but i also remember how in one season he transformed our club into one of the most attractive sides in the prem ,imo its a mater of personal choice ,either you dont mind us going south and more than likely singking into oblivion or you want us to fight like f##k ,if he can produce enough to motivate the other players and get us out of this shite then for the sake of seeing us on tv once ,maybe twice a month then I'm ok with it .
Just one more thing I dont if anyones experienced real homesickness but it can do strange things with the head ,just sayin
It’s unfair to blame Moyes.
He’s inherited a bunch of crap players (many of whom were here in his first stint!)
Has everyone forgotten how he got the best out of Arnie before he got the boot?
Signings since he left have been abysmal.
We’ve had (supposedly) one of the best managers in the world and even HE couldn’t shake this lot up into a semblance of a unit.
Our club will go nothing but downhill until the tossers at the top have milked us dry.
