Just Like Waiting For A Bus-2 More To Make It 3?

Well just like waiting for the proverbial London Bus or Policemen, you desperately want one, none turns up and then suddenly one appears after the other, as if by magic. The same can be said for Hammers transfer activity, huge delays and lots of excuses followed by a sudden glut!

Hot on the heels of 'Zouma Rumour', David Moyes has 'fast tracked the signings of at least one, or as it now seems more likely, two additional players. West Ham are close to agreeing a £25million deal to sign CSKA Moscow and Croatia attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic according to a plethora of media outlets. Moving for Vlasic might seem to put the mockers on the club acquiring Jesse Lingard, however there is a distinct possibility David Moyes might end up signing BOTH Vlasic and Lingard.

Not finished with this business, Moyes is 'hell bent' on getting deals over the line for a back up striker AND an additional left back, as fears for Authur Masuaku's long term fitness have surfaced and there is an obvious need for Antonio to have a back up, even if that player is relatively inexperienced.

Fans will be loving this late flurry of activity, Not sure about Mr Sullivan though! - Ed

Personally, my natural reaction to this would be "Well, we're lucky we got Zouma over the line!", and save myself the disappointment, with "maybe" a miracle loan for Vlasic, however I really think Lingard wants to be here, so, I'd be thrilled with that. Yet, if both happen (say a loan deal with Vlasic, and a permanent with Lingard?!?!) I have to say that I'd feel much more confident, (which is an understatement, to say the least!!) and Moyes, Nolan, and even Noble know how to explain that no one needs to be "dropped" We have 4 comps this year, and we've already drawn Manchester United in the League Cup. (Does anyone else think the we've drawn man U quite a bit when it comes to the domestic Cups?? Seems odd.) nevertheless, with fatigue and unfortunately, the injuries that will occur, they will ALL get their chances to earn a spot starting in at least one of them!! Its not a huge #, we needed 3-4 key players to really make this club dangerous, and, two out of three wouldn't be bad, but imagine all 3 over the line by 00:00 1st of September? Oh My Word!!!! COYI!!!

Agreed, Hammers65, that's why I'm taking this one with a level of "skeptical enthusiasm", it seemed unlikely we'd have either Lingard returning, or any one of the numerous striker rumours coming to fruition when I guessed they probably had used about 2/3rds of what I have thought was in the war chest to sign Zouma, which was needed and should be very good signing at Centre Back. Of course, he signed for the old "undisclosed" fee, which Tranfermarkt has his value currently at £28.8mill, with his highest ever value at £31.5mill back in Dec of 2019, so, I'm sure it was closer to the £30mill Mark. We will find out soon enough if anyone else is coming in. If even one of those other rumoured in Lingard or Vlasic sign, they (GSB) had more money than I thought, however, I'm not an ITK by any stretch of the imagination! I think the most realistic, and wise would be to make Lingard the priority, I know, Manchester will hold him hostage, but, the man is a known quantity. He wants to be part of this team, he can play anywhere across a 4-2-3-1, and can fill in at #9 if necessary. Naturally one would be happy to hear that Lingard was on his way for his physical tomorrow, or if Vlasic, who I honestly know less about, except that he looks sturdy, I'll research more later, sounds like folks would be happy to have him. He looks like he'd be able to weather the English winter when Antonio's hammys act up, I could be wrong, but we just need to solidify the attack, and we will have a season for the books!

However, its all silly season talk, most likely however, it would be a wonderful revelation for a Monday afternoon to find one or both are on their way. Worth a daydream, at least. COYI!!!

Cheers ladies & gentlemen, enjoy the rest of Sunday night!

Cheers, Hammers'65! appreciate the welcome message very much!

Agreed wholeheartedly, if this all comes to fruition with Vlasic AND Lingard, (or, even just one), pared with the arrival of Zouma, we should be able to compete in all comps, and still hold a respectable place in the middle to upper end of the top 10. Thus far, at approx 09:58hrs No word on the official site yet regarding Vlasic, but as we know, this doesn't mean the wheels are not in motion. Even before cell phones, the news of a new player on their way to East London often spread from Chipping Ongar to Whitechapel in about 20 minutes! (Now, it takes about 2!) "Ex" is bloody close most of the time, but as much respect as I have for "Ex-WHU-Employee", the official site with said player holding up our sacred kit is when you know it's done and dusted.
