Nuno Espírito Santo has officially pulled the rabbit out of the hat at West Ham United, it’s two wins from two and the first time the Hammers have won back-to-back Premier League games since Wolves & Manchester United back in December 2023.
A simple crash-bang job was completed against the blundering Burnley side, but that task didn’t always seem easy to achieve, especially after they took the lead… but it non-typical Hammers fashion, we fought back and loose your Will-son scored to bring us level.
Despite Sully chomping at the bit at the fee he’d have to ease out due to him scoring, it allowed Nuno to have the second half in his preferred reign.
Precise balls and maintain possession was Burnley’s plan but super-sub Soucek with his chested finish and KWP’s last gasp touch made it three.
Burnley’s consolation would be gifted to them courtesy of VAR, as Areola’s two hands on the ball evidently weren’t enough for it to be ruled out, a decision that didn’t cost us any points but nevertheless, a check should rule that out.
Freddie Potts unfortunately left the pitch early due to a slight niggle he picked up, but a 10/10 performance for his swift slide tackles as well as his elegant chipped passes. We haven’t seen something like him come out of the academy since Declan himself. But, the Portuguese Pablo is beginning to inherit the Duracell Bunny nickname as he simply didn’t stop running today, Fernandes was everywhere.
98% pass accuracy, along with 11 defensive contributions, affirms how much he’s done for Nuno defensively, but attacking, he made 6 passes into the final third, proving himself to be a crucial aspect of attacking as well.
A tough two fixtures, which many had worried would result in two defeats, has ended with two vital wins ahead of a worrying run.
Six smash and grab points and up to 10 for the season now, 30 points to go to reach the magical number. - LN

Ok we won happy with that
But many around me in the ground today could not believe the way we were sitting off Burnley at home.
We seem to have forgotten how to press and went back to slow backwords and sideways passing and Burnley did us a favour by scoring because that certainly put a rocket up a backside or two!.
Playing on the counter may work well considering the horrible set of fixtures to come but seriously at home against Burnley i think we deserved a little better.
We've hired a defensive
We've hired a defensive minded coach. The forward pressing West Ham manager is once again nowhere to be seen
