One Gone And Another To Follow

Yesterday, the departure of Mohammed Kudus was officially completed to Spurs, and it’s fair to say that the media was having a field day with it all.

The confirmed transfer fee is £54,500,000 however the add ons are currently unknown, the deal will be paid across 3 years, however, it’s confirmed that £5,450,000 of that transfer fee will go to Ajax due to a 10% Sell on clause, but the remainder of the money all will go to Potter & Macaulay this window.

In addition to the Kudus sale, Guido Rodriguez seems to be the next nearest player to leave. The Argentine is set for a move to Mexico with two clubs having interest, those of which being Tigres & Club America and supposedly a €2,000,000 bid from Tigres has already been accepted. For sure, in this instance, it’s a clear and obvious decision that Potter has to make. Selling Guido not only gives us a small sum, but it’s someone off the wage bill who was earning far too much for what was being provided.

A replacement for Rodriguez isn’t too necessary with Freddie Potts returning, and Potter has confirmed his intention to utilise him for the upcoming season. Potts also has spoken out upon his return to West Ham, saying: “My return has come at a perfect time. It means a lot to be back here because I’m a massive fan and it’s always been my dream to play for West Ham.”

A young, hungry player who wants to fight for the badge… what else could we ask for! It’s exactly what the club is desperate to have.

It is also important to note that after seeing the outrage of officially confirming that Kudus had been sold, Sully decided to put fuel on the fire and make his comments public, saying “We know the fans are unhappy, but how many fans, if they ran West Ham and had £54.5m to spend, would spend it buying Mohammed Kudus? Hopefully, the money is used to improve the team. All money will be used to bring in new players.” \

He’s spoken his piece, Hammers fans will have to see if it lives to be true.

I must admit Potters honesty in saying Potts, Orford, Earthy and Casey are all being brought into the squad to be used. Notwithstanding Dan Cummings who we're told is the real deal. Is a positive for West Ham.

Potter would be the ideal Mentor for those kids and it could end up being a masterstroke. Having 5 or so kids about the place will bring energy and enthusiasm, Not too mention discipline and respect. We could have that family feeling to the club.

Yes we need to bring in players, but there is some talent already here waiting to play for the shirt and the fans - This could be Potters savior and many chants of "he's one of our own" have the chance to ring out....

You have a higher opinion of these youngsters than I do to be honest. Hope you're right but can't see it myself. Certainly not with the remaining senior players as their mentors.

Upton Park has gone and it's replacement is sh*t. The style of football has followed the ground and close behind all that is the last three sh*t managers and one now currently in the job. The current owners seem intent on running this club into the ground, we're skint by all accounts, the training ground is mortgaged to the hilt, our best players are all up for sale or gone and some of us seem to expect kids who have been playing Championship or League 1 football to step and save this club from relegation. On top of all that, we're going to play football this season with a great big boil written across our chest. Maybe you could point out something then that I should have a high opinion of at this moment in time. Someone might be deluded here and it certainly isn't me.

Would love to see Harvey Elliott come in. Proven in the Premier League and can score goals. Would be a great addition. I would rather spend a chunk on him than 2 or 3 also rans with no value.

But we did have a League Cup semi final to play three days after that. All about priorities I suppose. A bit like how we plunged down the table when Pardew put all his eggs in the FA Cup which we got to the final against Liverpool in 2006
