Owners Promise And Fans Woe

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Mon, 18/08/2025 - 10:01

The Sunderland fixture brought many to realise how seriously in trouble the squad is at the moment currently and the supposed 'fights' after the game added fuel to the fire, clever journalism.

However, looking beyond the result, which is incredibly difficult to do, Sunday morning's media headlines were captured by Brady, who decided to go on TalkSport and discuss the situation that went on, result, the remainder of the window and the future of the club as a whole.

And to quote James May, it was a load of 'limp wristed twaddle I've ever heard'.

Obviously, the hot topic of conversation was the result, to which she said: "I know we'll see a reaction and I know they want to turn it around and they'll want to turn it around quickly."

"Graham is a forward thinking manager. He's sort of calm under pressure. He's very detailed in his approach. He's a great man, manager of players.

"He builds a special relationship with players and they understand where he's coming from."

However, looking past her comments on Graham Potter, Karen Brady would mention comments upon Mohammed Kudus and discuss how he was sold due to PSR....not one of the wiser discussions to mention after the Ghanaian registered two assists on his debut whilst we were hammered by Sunderland.

Out of the entirety of the draining 40-minute interview, one of the most crucial topics of discussion was in regards to signings, and when asked if Graham Potter and West Ham needed more pace in the midfield, Brady acknowledged, suggesting: “I think that anyone would know that. The answer to that question is yes. And that's what we're working hard on doing.”

Today officially marks the two-week reminder until the transfer window closes. Fourteen days the club have to prove to the fans that they actually acknowledge how serious the situation is and how we could find ourselves coming into the end of the season.

Whilst it's 14 days until the window closes, it's only in four days that we will return to the London Stadium to watch the might Hammers play Chelsea! So get on your high horse and brace yourself.

In 50 years of supporting West Ham. I never thought I would ever say this. I'm done with this shit. In the past. I would have been raging for days after Saturdays result. But now. Nothing. No interest. Sullivan has suffocated my love for West Ham.

my interest in the prem is also down to zero .what i can't understand is why he didn't change the whole mid field and also include walker/peters .Potts for me is a must but then again like you i am only a 50year supporter so what do i know !!!!

I'm joining you guys in the over 50 years of supporting this club gang 57 years to be exact. I started supporting them when I was 5 years old. I hope we do go down.

It would be how we build things up again. What Manager? Who knows, not Potter. Would this be the straw that broke the camels back? Would midget porn and the gang piss off for good?

Looking at the games coming up, we could be pointless for a good while yet. Every West Ham supporter who is old enough to understand can see. We need to put Potts in. Find a way to get Marshall in the team. Young blood energy. No JWP, no Rodriguez.

Knowing Potter he will switch them for Soucek and Alvaraez...Agghh.

It's not rocket science...

Up yer arse, up yer arse, stick yer blue flag up yer arse!!

Agree with starting Walker / Peters and Potts in the starting lineup. Move Wan-Bissaka into the midfield with Potts and let W. Peters start as the right back. Rodriguez has no creativity, or pace, although he made a couple of good tackles, but that is not good enough as West Ham have to start dominating the midfield. Yes, Prowse should also be on the subs bench along with Fulkrug. Besides a couple of tepid headers Fulkrug was non existent. Alvarez is supposed to be offloaded in the next couple of days. Why not Rodriguez as well? Then bring in two promising midfielders. Oops, too late, in the transfer window as only those available for free or past their use by date will be available. Based on the display against a promoted side, I think that if we come away with 3 points in any future games this season, then it will be like winning the FIFA World Club Cup!! :)

Endless years of dross? Didn't we recently finish top 8 and win a euro cup?

True but that's like looking at a mountain. It's a long way up to the top as we know and a long way down to the bottom. Considering how long it took us to get there, we'll mirror it going the other way with the poisonous dwarf in charge.

Yes as i said, and what youve said is just miniscule in my 60 years, big deal finished 8th though not saying the cup was welcome, but it is small fry compaired to how other clubs are run,it reflects on the pitch, and who we attract, thats why i stick with my comments,we are dull and have constantly battled relegation,we are not and wont be a top 6 club, bottom 6 yes.

I gave up on the Brady interview, I just couldn't be arsed to listen to her any more. It's clear she is speaking from a script but she slipped up by saying she HOPES Potter will do well Not we expect him to do well. That's a set up ready for a sacking and the next 5 or 6 fixtures do not look very kind. On a more bleak side, I do not see any managers who realistically could turn this around. Of course, there is always Big Sam ;)

I feel a bit sorry for him ,Pots, like I have for every W H team manager ,ever since Lyle ,they come in and in their hearts they think their goin to turn things around, then reality hits home ,we haven't been stingy in the trans market since Sully came in ,in truth we've always been ,shall we say conservative in our dealings. As well as the structure 's at our club I lay most of the blame on the alacadoes at the prem lg , they've let the money aspect get right out of control ,look at the spending of the top 6 or 7 ,3or 4 times what we spend ,look at Chelsea ,since2022 they've spent over 1billion, believe it or not,+ the wages their allowed to pay , imagine Shity pay one of their players almost million a week, and a enquiry that's dragged on for over 4 years .
On present form I can see no other option but the drop ,I too, just like you guys have been a hammer for over 50 years , and like you Enfield I've often been on the edge of quitting, but you never do ,not really, you just keep plodin on with with the same old despair.
What s clear to me is that we're in need of a complete rebuild, not only in players but in our football mentality.and in truth the only way to do that is downwards.
