West Ham’s defeat to Arsenal marked the end of the Premier League, with a two-week international break upcoming.
Whilst the international break is frowned upon, the positives are that it allows Nuno to have more time with certain players, training with those who haven’t travelled to their respective countries, as well as potentially bringing in some of his staff members who are his own.
However, most notably, across the two Premier League games that Nuno has been in charge of with the Irons, he’s given both Potts and Marshall valuable minutes to develop. Across both games, Potts played a total of 74 minutes, and Callum Marshall made his Premier League debut, playing 37 minutes.
Nuno commented after the game “What l've been seeing in training sessions, his energy, he's a good finisher, good mobility, he can recognise the gaps in the space, he has a good chance, even though he's not a strong boy against a very tough centre-half, he managed to get the header [from a corner], so I think we have something that we can use."
A positive sign for fans who have been bellowing out for someone to truly utilise the talent that the club owns, and from two matches, to see the array of players used is a hopeful sign.
The likes of Guilherme and Magassa have also been handed minutes on the pitch, with the Frenchman having two starts in a row since Nuno’s arrival.
The likes of Josh Landers and Preston Fearson have also been players who have been knocking on the door of the first team, and as time passes, perhaps a breakthrough could happen.
Only time will tell with the future of the youth; events such as AFCON will see the Hammers without AWB and Diouf, so the likes of Ollie Scarles returning to the first squad could also be reignited.
Once the Hammers return from a much-needed international break, they’re set to have four fixtures before the next and final break of the year, those fixtures being Brentford (H), Leeds (A), Newcastle (H), Burnley (H). Three home fixtures in the space of a month is what Nuno is hoping can put the mighty Irons on the right foot and guide them out of the dreaded relegation zone.

Kante
I saw him play at Reading last week. he's a bit raw / naive, prone to give the ball away but a real inspirational leader, can make a tackle, puts a foot in and an incredible engine, all over the park. Reminded me a bit of Patrick Vieira!
I cant help wondering if Nuno
I cant help wondering if Nuno will try and get any of his ex tried and tested players? When he was at Wolves it was almost Portugal FC.
The main ones being Chris Wood or Jose Sa maybe Ruben Neves??
It's the spine he'll look to galvanise..
