Only watched until HT, most unfriendly friendly I've ever seen. Jocks were kicking us round the park. Bunch of klints.

Had a long weekend away in Glasgow visiting family and went along to the game and well we were poor to put it mildly.
I know it is just preseason and Rangers start their season i think this Friday but really i have to question Nunos Tactics and the way he sets up side and how we play and for goodness sake it is a friendly like i have mentioned but talk about negative tactics and the players look like they had just met in the car park.
Things have to be better than this with only a few weeks before the big kick off but i am just not sure they will be though and sadly i am giving the manager his new nickname of Nuno the Negative as i just do not see any future for him at the club playing football friendly or not like that.

i am sure that will catch on BG as did Dithering Dave....Whilst i accept that we were shite at the weekend it was the same group of players that smashed Stevenage 5-0 and everyone was hyped that the signs looked good for the season ahead so playing Rangers a week before their season starts with players whose fitness is further down the road than ours and getting a draw really speaks volumes on the quality of players up there.
As to the tactics yes once again square pegs round holes and all that but maybe he is having to do that to find out who is capable of playing in different roles....not perfect by any means but it may well be an eyeopener to what is going on behind the scenes recruitment wise and gaps will have to be filled as best as they can.
Regarding recruitment i cannot for one moment believe that Nuno and his team have not been checking out various candidates to fill the gaps left by Fernandes and Summerville because if they have not been doing that then they should be sacked but i just think they are looking at a very high calibre of talent hoping they can convince them to have a season in the championship.....apparently Woltermade from the barcodes is being looked at with a loan to by option.

I saw the 1st half and as I say. Rangers were a very physical team. I didn't realise they were only a week away from the league campaign. Which probably explains the tactics. They were at it more than us.

But then again I'm sure Nuno didn't want any serious or niggling injury scenarios. Yes, I know things happen in training, but you get my drift?

Overall a clean sheet. The rest will fall into place in the next 3 weeks. Interestingly enough. the Pompey game replaces the unwanted Betway cup type fixture a week before the season starts. Meaning it will serve as a really good test before the league starts. Result isn't everything as it's the Moose cup. But start as we mean to go on and I don't see any slip ups here.

As a born pessimist I have to say Nuno isn't my cup of tea ,the only thing cheating me up is the bookies ,odds on to go up and very short odds win the championship

.. Ponderous!

Kante was really poor in the first half, gave the ball away too often, JWP was what you would expect, busy , slow and unproductive.

We need a ball carrier and legs in the midfield

Pablo was awful but thought Kilman was ok!

Defensive midfielder nope but that is where Nuno stuck him...with his physique he should be put in the middle on the front foot because that is where his best game lies....but i'm sure Nuno knows what he is doing doesn't he! this is the man who played Scarles at RB etc

It's where you try things out, experiment, find out if certain options work as well as gaining match fitness and hopefully get it all right for the fixtures that matter.
We had a woeful pre season last time we got promotion with only two wins from six and one of those was only against Dagenham

But at this stage, two weeks away from a "proper" fixture the experimenting should be on the training ground and you are "cementing" a winning model.

Feisty little midfielder, happy to get stuck in but still a ball player. Just joined from Hearts and strange that no English clubs were interested.

BTW... I dont get this love in with Rangers supporters, I always saw them as Chavski of the north :o)
