Upon returning from International Football the Hammers officially commemorated the passing of Luděk Mikloško in what was an emotional tribute. However, the beauty amongst the display would be the brightness in what was a night of misery for the Hammers.
West Ham’s first focus point will be the disastrous first half that occurred today, by all means, the scoreline may have only been 1-0 at the break but it felt as if it should’ve been seven. It was a totally disorganised, woeful and utterly embarrassing first forty-five minutes, I’m certain Nuno would agree. I’ve had more shots than what was displayed in the first half and I don’t drink!
However, not to take away from the appalling first-half performance, QPR’s first and only goal of the match was converted calmly into the back of the net from the penalty spot, but the incident that awarded them the penalty is alarming. Tomas Soucek, who made his return tonight, made contact with the ball OUTSIDE the box yet the referee, Ruebyn Ricardo, believed that not only was it a foul, but that it was inside the box! It’s a remarkable decision. Remarkable. With that said, my eye checkup appointment is due.
The gloomy times didn’t become much brighter until the 70th minute where West Ham remembered that they are indeed allowed to participate and try to win a match of Football. Jarrod Bowen converted from a close-range strike and many more chances soon followed. Chance after chance we came close until we were awarded a penalty ourselves and… fluffed it. Bowen’s bottom-left attempt was saved and Piroe’s rebound clattered off the post. Miserable.
West Ham United have now missed out on 3 points already this season due to penalties, a loss of a possible draw against Charlton due to Taty’s miss and Bowen’s save effort tonight.
If you take away the dreadful penalty miss, if you take away the awful refereeing. Nuno’s side deserved a draw tonight. Whilst QPR were indeed nothing short of poor themselves, West Ham have truly shot themselves in the foot and now wait eagerly to see the other Championship results this week and where perhaps the Hammers will plummet to before playing Lincoln on Wednesday night.
Walking away with a point and feeling lucky says it all.

That's around 3 match's now
That's around 3 match's now where we've been dire in the first half only to wake up in the second,I reckon it's down to the opposition, there brilliant in the first only to run out of steam in the second.
By the way after. Being heavily critical of Pablo in the past I thought he did very well when he came on ,I really think he's improving.
