Upon returning from International Football the Hammers officially commemorated the passing of Luděk Mikloško in what was an emotional tribute. However, the beauty amongst the display would be the brightness in what was a night of misery for the Hammers.
West Ham’s first focus point will be the disastrous first half that occurred today, by all means, the scoreline may have only been 1-0 at the break but it felt as if it should’ve been seven. It was a totally disorganised, woeful and utterly embarrassing first forty-five minutes, I’m certain Nuno would agree. I’ve had more shots than what was displayed in the first half and I don’t drink!
However, not to take away from the appalling first-half performance, QPR’s first and only goal of the match was converted calmly into the back of the net from the penalty spot, but the incident that awarded them the penalty is alarming. Tomas Soucek, who made his return tonight, made contact with the ball OUTSIDE the box yet the referee, Ruebyn Ricardo, believed that not only was it a foul, but that it was inside the box! It’s a remarkable decision. Remarkable. With that said, my eye checkup appointment is due.
The gloomy times didn’t become much brighter until the 70th minute where West Ham remembered that they are indeed allowed to participate and try to win a match of Football. Jarrod Bowen converted from a close-range strike and many more chances soon followed. Chance after chance we came close until we were awarded a penalty ourselves and… fluffed it. Bowen’s bottom-left attempt was saved and Piroe’s rebound clattered off the post. Miserable.
West Ham United have now missed out on 3 points already this season due to penalties, a loss of a possible draw against Charlton due to Taty’s miss and Bowen’s save effort tonight.
If you take away the dreadful penalty miss, if you take away the awful refereeing. Nuno’s side deserved a draw tonight. Whilst QPR were indeed nothing short of poor themselves, West Ham have truly shot themselves in the foot and now wait eagerly to see the other Championship results this week and where perhaps the Hammers will plummet to before playing Lincoln on Wednesday night.
Walking away with a point and feeling lucky says it all.

That's around 3 match's now
That's around 3 match's now where we've been dire in the first half only to wake up in the second,I reckon it's down to the opposition, there brilliant in the first only to run out of steam in the second.
By the way after. Being heavily critical of Pablo in the past I thought he did very well when he came on ,I really think he's improving.
Starting to really hate Nuno Numbnuts
As said by Newburkie, we are starting games dire, slow , lethargic no ambition to get forward. Zero creativity in finding a killer pass, just shocking.
I think this starts with Knumbnuts, I think he's clueless and out of his depth and in danger of costing us a promotion.
We have a midfield of Subbuteo men, all from the same mould, all look the same with no pace and energy. Bring to party a man that hasn't played football for months and you have a perfect storm! SlowCzech.......... why would you play him?
QPR did a number on us, 5 across the back, they got a penalty they didnt deserve and were happy to soak up pressure and hit us on the counter. Their keeper is useful, very composed on the ball unlike our knumpty!
I didnt comment after the
I didnt comment after the game last night as i was seriously pissed off,as you all have stated the first hour was bollocks, the team selection was stupid,is Nuno trying to give the opposition a a helping hand every game, and as for Soucek hes had his day,we also have players that are too lighweight taking penalties, hit the effing ball none of this tapping in....Julian Dicks i must say he didnt piss about.
yes agree
neither did ray Stewart
We have perfected the art
Of sideways and backwards passing their is not one team better than that in the league congratulations Nuno.
Last night i was shouting at the TV in the first few mins? why well just take a look..the GK had the ball was just standing their motionless whilst all our players dropped off and Taty Bowen just looking at each other not one player commits to close on the keeper and make him play the ball quickly time and time again that happened try telling me that that is not an instruction drilled into the players...very good at backing off.
Secondly starting Soucek after such a long lay off was madness and Engels and Mukasa were totally lost and had no idea what they were meant to be doing and i was not surprised that Mukasa was subbed...not a dig at him because you could of taken the lot off in all honesty...but starting Soucek was ridiculous and for me i love the big guy but he is an impact sub at best for me.
Now lets look at the opposition...Millscum/QPR both with limited funds and squad depth both suffering injury crisis yet they played better football and more committed football than we did.
Nuno said he was not having what happened in the first half at Millscum again and he was right we were even worse at home...leaden footed walking football playing one man up front who is isolated playing a left sided centre back as a left back because he is one of your old boys Bowen every man and his dog knows where he is going to be on the pitch and so gets blocked off to easily but Nuno persists with his shithouse tactics.
Subs were all predictable and no thought into them just errr well they did it for me in the millscum game they will do it for me again........the mans robbing a living i have never been a fan and nothing will change as he is a reactive man not a proactive one so do not be surprised when we have the same side out against Lincoln and ohhh shiver my timbers Swansea away we will have to have all our defenders playing that game!.
Everyone knows we play better on the front foot and has already been shown when we play at prem pace and level nobody can live with us but sadly we have a manager who will not accept that and only has a safety first approach home or away.
Nuno out.
Well
We won the match. Theirs was no way a pen. We were robbed.
Is it just me
Who thinks we're not really that great a team? Wrexham just didn't turn up, but looking at our games against Millwall, QPR, Charlton etc. I just didn't think we were really all that great as a team, no better than the opposition so maybe, just maybe, some of us on the org. think we are better than we really are.
I agree with some of the comments on here, Soucek starting being one of them, but I'm not 100% thinking that many of the other midfielders are much better, certainly not Orford. Solomon is just w*nk, KWP and Killman just as bad, we don't have a decent keeper option and Taty just doesn't seem to have the heart (or skill) for it. Engles? average. Piroe, Kante, Mukasa, Autbo? Not getting my heart racing either.
One of the podcasts I was on just about summed it up for me. We are a one man team. Bowen. So with that in mind, I'm still not in the Nuno out camp yet as I don't see better options there really
Yeah
Always the way though. Ppl think we should stroll to win after win. Personally i think season going well and team is what it is. Other clubs cast offs.
Please explain season going well
I am genuinely interested, I love folk with a bit of optimism.
We have spent the most in the chumps league, we play in front of 60K at home, have a superb player in Bowen who could still get in most clubs in England and yet we look like pedestrian strangers because knumbnuts hasn't a clue.
?
We are in the top 3. Were you expecting us to have won league by now?
Is that it?
Feel so much more motivated.
We are in the top three of a lesser league
But
Thats the point. Look at the team. Bar bowen its bang average. These clubs in this league have had their teams together n settled for seasons. Its no walk in park
I wouldnt bang the drum for
I wouldnt bang the drum for Bowen after that tame penalty.
Nuno
Nuno is just not up to it he has no passion his tactics are hit and miss mostly miss,we are giving teams 45 minutes to play their game before we wake up and that is usually after going a goal or two down this is not promotion football the manager as far as i'm concerned must go try and get craig bellamy in he has passion he knows the west ham way i'm sure he would get a more fighting spirit out of the team and on the front foot because otherwise if we do go up through playoffs we would just come back down again the following season.Bowen is not a captain since he was given armband he has actually regressed and hermenson just gives me the jitters the way he plays about because he certainly doesn't control his area put Areola back in goal give the area height at least.
Keeper
Mads is not good enough... offer City big bucks for Charles... he's the dogs!!!
