Eventually the 'good luck' bubble had to burst, in recent games all of Hammers' relegation 'brethren' have floundered, achieving only four points between them since the Barclays Premier League project restart. That all started to change with Watford's victory over Newcastle, but was bought home to rest with Aston Villa's 2-0 home victory over a Palace team that looked and performed as if they were already on the beach.

Conspiracy theorists might think Palace lost in order to put extra pressure on West Ham's relegation woes, in the vague hope of finally getting hold of Michail Antonio at a bargain price should the Irons get relegated. Either way Villa's victory possibly portents the dreadful thought of having to play them on the final day of the season in order for David Moyes' team to survive in the top flight.

If Bournemouth get a result this evening, there will be a lot of bottom squeaking and anxiety spreading across fans who fear the stress levels might be too much to bare, and the candles will be burning in Theydon Bois as well! Being positive, relegation or not is still firmly in West Ham United's hands and as such the club is not currently reliant on other teams doing the club a favour.

Two games against fellow relegation strugglers will define the season, the Manchester United match will probably see Moyes regress and go for damage limitation, however if the result against Watford is a negative one he may well be forced to alter his approach. Everything is still up for grabs in the 'basement' of the division, and it will be a case of who dares probably wins. - Ed

Frankly I dont give a rats **** what the other teams are doing, its still in our hands with Friday a six pointer and even a cheeky draw with the Red Mancs being achievable. If that all fails theres still Villa on the last day so no bl**dy excuses! All in all this is a very bad season, 9 home defeats is shocking and maybe warrants a trip to the Chumps League.

Root and branch change at West Ham or its the same old same old. Starts at the board, Manager, coaching staff but more important scouting strategy. panic buys in summer and new year with a new Carlos Kickabout brought in for each window. Enough is enough!

are you renewing the season ticket?

WTF was VAR doing disallowing a Crystal Palace goal for handball when it clearly hit his shoulder? Never handball in a million years and allowed Villa to get their tails up and come back and win.
On VAR, I was massively in favour of it due to the shocking decisions that usually benefit the bigger clubs but after this season I think those clubs just have more opportunities to have decisions go their way. Their needs to be more people involved in determining the outcome with VAR decisions. How some of these decisions have been made, apparently by professional referees is effing obscene and proves that it's not the game but that the refs aren't up to an acceptable standard. They're clearly imbeciles who can't make a correct decision.

Agree mate,i was all for VAR too,for the same reason as you,it's turned out to be a complete joke,i have to admit now it's killing the joy of football.and yes i see that of his shoulder what a farce.also troy boy gets two soft pens, and girlish is allowed to wear a wetsuit with no punishment ,that had to be one of the worst dives in the history of the game.
