Striker Season - Deal or No Deal

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 11/08/2026 - 11:25

West Ham’s Championship campaign will kickstart this Sunday with a 16:00 kick-off against Burnley.

Despite the summer being long, the same story of problems finding the right targets continues. It’s a precarious situation that the club are currently undergoing. Initially it was seen that Pablo would leave West Ham, but only a handful of clubs showed interest, and if so, the money offered was nowhere near good enough.

Galatasaray remain interested in the Brazilian, but interest is all there is.

Despite both Pablo and Taty remaining at the club, West Ham are looking to bring in another forward, and they’ve set their eyes on three targets: Troy Parrott, Wilson Isidor and Jamie Vardy.

West Ham have had a bid rejected by AZ Alkmaar for £17m as the Dutch side aim to receive a much higher fee; however, it seems at this moment in time that the Hammers will be able to agree a fee and that they’ve already gotten the agreement from Parrott himself to join.

In the event the Parrott deal falls through, attention will turn towards Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor, who initially refused a loan with an obligation deal with West Ham, but it is thought that if the Black Cats can find a replacement for the Haiti international before the end of the window, a deal could be struck.

The outlier is Jamie Vardy. The 39-year-old would like the move to West Ham, but the club see him as a final option and will have to test the waters entirely for Parrott and Isidor first before anything can go further for the Englishman.

At the moment, the striker position seems to be the priority, but a midfielder and another defender are still expected to be signed.

Time’s ticking, and Solomon is confirmed for a £7m deal, which brings our total spending this window to £8m!
