After West Ham United’s defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday it seems as that was the final nail in the coffin for Graham Potter and the club are anticipating sacking the Englishman, but not until a replacement is set in stone.
The Hammers have seemingly given Potter the fixtures against Everton and Arsenal seeing as ‘they don’t believe they are good fixtures for a new manager’ which is rather convenient considering that’s the build-up to the international break, and the return fixture is the game against Brentford, which has planned to be a boycott through fans.
However, overlooking the boards anticipated thought process, the question of which manager and what type of deal to offer is now the question looming in the clubs head.
The contenders for the job, which has been said by numerous sources close to David Sullivan, are currently Slaven Bilić, Nuno Espirito Santo and Gary O’Neil.
Of all the names, David Sullivan is currently favouriting Bilić or O’Neil seeing as they’d be open to a short-term deal, whilst other members of the board are aiming for a manager who’s given a longer contract, with their preferred target being Nuno.
Nuno is said to be open to taking the West Ham job as he’s keen to return to management after his sacking at Nottingham Forest due to tension with the ownership.
But, Bilić and O’Neil are also open to taking the job on short-term contracts with an incentive, the most likely option being an automatic extension if a certain position was achieved.
Usually most would say time is ticking so a decision needs to be made soon, but the board have over a month to decide the next manager to take the cold seat due to the ‘write off’ fixtures as well as the international break.

If Potter had any bollocks as
If Potter had any bollocks as a dead man walking much as El Loppo was. In fact the situation is identical. Which says exactly where the issue lies.
The board are the reason this club, our club. Is on it's arse.
Do the decent thing Potter. Get one over on them walk now. Restore your dignity otherwise you'll be a gonna very soon. Another sacked statistic!
Football managers don't
The decent thing to be done would be for Sullivan to walk.
Football managers don't resign. They wait to be sacked so they can walk away with a nice golden handshake. All about money, not dignity. This is football after all where it's preferable to throw yourself to the ground pretending to be injured rather than concede you lost out to a fair tackle!
I dont quite get the Everton
I dont quite get the Everton and Arsenal games not good for a new manager to start,We have Brentford after that, they always have the upper hand on us,then saying that i cant see where we are going to get a win on any games,it just a case on stalling on Sullivans part,in the hope of a miraculous turn around.
Potter has to go
He was never the right man for the job and I said so from the very beginning. Too many pro Potter on this site were looking at his mediocre Brighton record and ignoring his obvious inadequacies as a Premier League manager at Chelsea to really give him any credibility.
What is concerning though are the candidates being touted as replacements, Nuno being the only serious contender in my opinion. However, the similarities in track record between him and Potter cannot be ignored. Mediocre term at Wolves, catastrophic term at the Spuds and a purple patch at Forest before a disagreement with the owners over the transfer dealings over summer. That bodes well with our owners and their history of transfer dealings doesn't it.
The biggest joke is that Bilic (if really true) is even considered, he's been a failure everywhere he's gone and O'Neil isn't going to take us any further than any of the other freebie permutations that S&B have tried out recently. It's quite clear that a short term man therefore is needed for now as there are no long term credible persons available without buying out a contract, which still may be needed to be done come the end of the season. So far as I can see, there is only one man who may be tempted out of retirement who could steady the ship, settle some foundations and most importantly of all, keep us up. And I can't see any of you lot wanting him.
As ive said in a previous
As ive said in a previous post,i couldnt give a toss who has a go now,if your talking about Sam,why not,a strong character, and he will put us on track,im sure of it.
