Sully x Salthouse Duo Strikes Again

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Wed, 23/07/2025 - 13:10

Sully has made one of his classic phone calls, and year after year, he's finally got his man.

It appears that Callum Wilson will be joining West Ham this Summer Transfer window, and with the Englishman joining the club, it'll count as our eighth and final homegrown player required to fulfil the quota. By no means is Wilson a positive signing; in fact, it's exactly the opposite of what we need at the club and the opposite of what Potter is aiming for.

There are rumours circulating that Wilson would be accepted by Graham Potter but only if the player is on a 'pay-by-play' type contract, essentially meaning if the player gets injured or performs badly, the pay would be minimal and wouldn't cost the Hammers a fortune... such as Uncle Ingy. But this is also because he's likely not to start games and, at best, only cover for injury, or perhaps a substitution appearance here and there.

Is Wilson a positive signing? No. Does it allow us to spend elsewhere? Yes.

It's extremely difficult to think about the positives for the deal, but the man above will never change the club for the better, and continue to be an obstacle for the windows ahead, he's not confirmed just yet.. might fail the medical! Only time will tell, but seems like the third signing is set in stone.

Can anyone else find some positives, apart from a certain extra paycheck to another individual, I'm struggling to see why West Ham has made the executive decision to offer him a contract instead of Antonio or someone else. If we HAD to sign someone above the age of 32, we would've had the courtesy to get Antonio back, you'd suspect?

Onwards and upwards... wonder what the bookies' odds of him playing above 10 games next season are?

Well as he always scores against us I'm expecting an own goal. Although we've already managed that by signing him.

Absolutely idiotic business. Potter must be wondering WTF is happening?

Younger and not an injury liability. We all moan about his wages but that's not down to him that he wasn't given the chance to actually earn it. A true professional whilst he was here actually

Trying to look for a positive. Potter's reluctance to have him. If Sullivan insists on having him. Let's hope it's on Potter's terms.

If Wilson is signed by Sullivan then we might as well give up, spending money on injury proven veteran when he's pleading poverty from day one we have no money for players till some are sold. The player has slag this once great club off so many times in the past and sullivan/salthouse need locking up in a mental institution.Sullivan is an egomaniac that will do what he wants regardless of what precious fans we have left want regarding players that should be bought in,potter is on a hiding to nothing he will not get the players he wants and he can't get rid of the crap that he has inherited because basically they are not good enough no spirit,no winning desire no input that's why the stadium is so flat there's no enthusiasm from the pitch to get excited about.I feel the only way we might get rid of sullivan is if we get relegated this season then his world might start to collapse because the club has borrowed against this seasons 25/26 and season 26/27 sky payments?

I heard the Romford Pele is dusting off his boots on a promise to join us. Parlour is bringing in Alan Brazil as his personal fitness coach. PMSL..
