Summerville Shines, Potter Gleams - Nottingham Forest 0-3 West Ham

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sun, 31/08/2025 - 17:41

Potter's side pummeled Nottingham Forest by three goals to nil, thanks to a dull first half and the introduction of Summerville.

The first half appeared as lacklustre for both sides, the Hammers not being able to have too many chances, whilst Forest also suffered from the same; the only player to have a shot on target and the best chance of the half would be Lucas Paqueta, who forced Sels into an acrobatic save, and that was the only highlight of the half.

The second half felt the same, not much change until the introduction of Crysencio Saver-ville, who came on in the 82nd minute and just two minutes later, wriggled his way through the Nottingham Forest midfield to give it to Jarrod Bowen, who slotted it into the back of the net. An elegant finish from Jarrod Bowen put us 1-0 up.

But it would be only two minutes later for the Hammers to see their next bit of action as it wasn't us conceding from kick-off, which is a change, but rather Crysencio dancing down the wing into the box, being brought down by Sangare and a penalty being confirmed. Lucas Paqueta stuttered and placed the ball into the net, giving us all three points, and as he wheeled off in celebration, the Brazilian Magnifico seemed to pick up the phone, throwing it away and kissing the badge, dismissing all of the ludicrous rumours yesterday about a transfer to Aston Villa.

Malick Diouf had his Malick-cious intent with his lethal crosses throughout the 90' and one of them found Callum Wilson in the 91st minute to make it 3-0 to the Hammers, and unfortunately, that means we'll most likely not sign another player this window seeing as Sully has to pay Wilson's bonus! Sorry Sul!

Jarrod Bowen turned into Jarradona with a dancing run around 5 players in the dying moments of the game, but as he was about to take the shot, Wilson remembered that Antonio's told him to try and keep his record, therefore nicking the ball from Bowen! But all happy smiles came to the end of the 90' as the refreshed starting eleven got us all three points.

A back four gave us a new life today, and hopefully it's something that Potter can learn from. Mateus Fernandes also impressed on his debut alongside Tomas Soucek and Ward-Prowse, happy smiles all around going into the International break... can anyone remind me who's on MOTD again?

At the game today and staying over in Nottingham with friends and they are County fans so well happy with us today.
Fernandes wowza what a dreamboat he is boys and he can play football to:-) my mate big Mav did not put a foot wrong today and was a beast winning the ball Paqueta decided to be the man we all know he is today and he was definitely making a point to us fans today.
All in all with the formation being forced on Potter more than a stroke of tactical genius by him as a team we looked so much more solid and hard to get through and truthfully we were comfortable for the majority of the match and we could of had more.

So for once we can enjoy the weekend all though it is almost done and work tomorrow well for some not for me:-) and the players everyone of them deserves a pat on the back for a performance we have been waiting for for a long while now.

Unfortunately I do not have the faith in Potter for him to accept that he has got it wrong for so long. Good to see Fernandez oust Rodriguez from the starting line up and one could expect new signing Soungoutou Magassa to push out either Soucek or JWP after the international break. This being Potter though, I won't be surprised if he puts Magassa at CB and reverts back to a wingback system against Spurs.

Summerville is like a new signing. Watched him playing his last game of the previous season and he was amazing there until he picked up a serious injury. Glad to see him back and making such a great impact, along with Callum Wilson. Summerville and Diouf had a great chemistry to set up that third goal for Wilson. Fernandes and Paqueta had flashes of brilliance. Seeing how Spuds lost to Bournemouth, and they are our next opponents, means that Potter should push Fernandes into a midfield role alongside Bissaka and start both Wilson and Summerville. Walker-Peters was solid as right back and seems to have sewn his spot. Will be interesting to see Kudus back at London Stadium after the International break, and the boos every time he touches the ball. Can confirm that he was not at his best against Bournemouth.

First of all I am delighted with the performance and the result, we were the better side in a pretty miserable 80 minutes with some of the worst passing I have ever witnessed.

My beef is still with Potter. I'm not convinced that Potter would have set up 4 at the back had Nayef Aguerd The Turd had not refused to get on the coach. Had he travelled we would have seen 3 at the back and 2 wingbacks which would have resulted in the same old same old.

I'd still like him gone!!!
