Lost in the Forest! Tonight’s defeat leaves West Ham winless in 10 and seven points from safety, a game in which the Hammers played a good game, but lacklustre abilities and the end of the rainbow being reached, left us with nothing but an empty pot of gold.
A handful of opportunities were presented to Nuno and West Ham at the beginning of 2026, a beginning which could’ve seen hope reinstated in all, but instead, the supposed back-to-back ‘must wins’ games have ended up in damning defeats, with the feeling of relegation no longer holding the value of fear and now more so complacency.
From being 1-0 up through a bit of fortune and going into the second half with confidence in our heads, Summerville’s finesse doubled our lead but VAR would rule it out for an unfair offside against Taty, which began the demise of the game, Forest pulled one back and from that moment on only a handful of chances would follow, none of which West Ham could convert, no matter who dared to shoot. Marinakis must’ve been on the phone to the ol’ PGMOL, who decided to carefully review Areola’s alleged assault, which, despite no complaints being received, Sean Dyche’s smile beamed as his burning Forest planted dread into West Ham’s patch, with Nuno left stumped.
The smallest of positives was that Taty provided power to the struggling Hammers, but tonight, the only people to provide power were he and British Gas.
Speaking about the players is truly null, attempting to pick out the positives for West Ham appears to be more of a chore each week as it just gets more and more difficult. Despite the signings, despite the starting squad changes and despite being at home, West Ham can’t win regardless of the circumstances.
Where do West Ham go from here? The clear, immediate answer isn’t apparent, and 90% of the fanbase are waiting for the last 17 games to pass whilst embracing the inevitable feeling of Championship Football.
21 games played this season, 22 goals scored, -21 goal difference. That summarises West Ham’s campaign this season. - LN

Bloody frustrating Louis
The games dead for me..every single time something happens in the box you hear the commentator say ohh VAR ARE CHECKING SOMETHING i just think ffs let the players play..at least next season we will not have VAR to worry about......as for last night i think Todibo played well Taty for a first game showed good movement and once he gets used to his new teammates and the runs made that can only get better and Pablo looks a decent lump but it is to little to late and who will be here next season.
Agree bike
VAR is totally destroying the game and is not being used for what it was intended for. That is, for CLEAR AND OBVIOUS ERRORS. If they are measuring for millimetres and/or taking up to ten minutes to make a decision, never mind sending the ref to a TV screen for another look in slow mo or frozen time, then they are not clear and obvious errors.
How many times has a ref gone over to the screen and stuck by his guns to a decision he has made on the pitch and not one by three or more guys sat at a desk hundreds of miles away?
We should start a fans protest/petition to do away with VAR.
The way they tie themselves in knots
To explain a decision is farcical at times...take last night when Summervilles goal was ruled offside they showed you all the fancy pics showing it and yet look at LiVARpool they had a goal given player clearly offside everyone new it players managers commentators everyone except the Var officials and how did they explain that away well its because there is a 5cm give or take for offsides funny that eh and yet last night nothing like that was discussed....that and the fact Summerville fouled in the D ref looking straight at it nope not giving it clear and obvious error but VAR no we cannot get involved in those decisions...bollox you can but you wont..the game is gone.
Two points here.
Two points here.
VAR is destroying the game agree Deluded, Hate the thing, however Championship, every cloud and all that. Ironic isn't it, that we won't have to worry about it soon?
Areola. Now Deluded will agree here I know. Areola has previous for wiping out opposing players. With horrendous decisions leading to penalty awards.
I was at Brammall Lane last season when he came and cleared out the Sheff Utd centre forward. Resulting in McBurnie scoring the penalty to give the Blunts a point. So the fact he did it again last night is no surprise whatsoever to me.
He is a World Class shot stopper. But a liability when you add up 90 mins+ on a football field. You need your keeper to be consistent and at least catch the ball or attempt to. Sorry but I have no sympathy for a serial offender, a liability between the sticks. Some of you will say it's harsh, I say thats crap. He will never learn.
I'm giving up now watching to see if NES goes or stays as it wont make a blind bit of difference. We deserve our fate, thanks to the owners who have torn the arse out of our club. Whatever happens, things will never be the same again, certainly in my lifetime...
World Class shot stopper?
Really?
Yeah, he's made some saves. Kinda what you'd expect a goalkeeper to do isn't it?
I'm not splitting hairs with
I'm not splitting hairs with you deluded, he's right up there when it comes to shot stopping, more from close range, but it's not good enough in the all round game.
I'd expect a goalkeeper worth his sort to command his box and stop the fvcking ball end of.
We could end up Bankrupt
That fingertip save should not be forgotten one of the saves of the season we all know that's what goalkeepers should do! but a lot of them don't, and that shot from Nico Williams would have beaten nearly all of the current goalkeepers in the prem. What alternative does Nuno have, can you imagine what the score would have been if he played Hermanson. Granted he needs back up but there are more important positions all over the pitch.
Think after last nights result we got to face up to the fact we are relegated and from the clubs point of you we don't want to end up like Charlton or Luton almost bankrupt we have got to start gearing up for the championship cos we are gon, gon, GONE. Listened to Nuno last night after the match interview he got asked if he would manage WHU in the championship - he didn't answer it and told the interviewer we are not down yet! I'm old iron and stopped believing Bullshit like that a long time ago, he knows the score, he may have blotted his reputation but he wont be staying, nether will Paqueta, Killman, Somerville and Bowen we cant afford their wages! so maybe its better that Nuno goes now, and we get someone who is up for the fight like Carrick or Billic because I think Nuno wants to get the sack. How naive does he think we are he's told Callum Wilson he will be going down in the pecking order but what if one of these new forwards get injured Pablo already has a hamstring issue, so what does Nuno do? fcuks him off so he can sign for one our rivals right at the beginning of the transfer window, as I said Sullivan has got to old to do this job and now he has paid the ultimate penalty. His Billion Pound estimate looks a bit silly now, but I can tell you one thing he will not be using his own money so he might as well piss off out of club straight away. Some Custodian he is, ripped the arse out off the club and the hearts of all the supporters as well. B&SOUT
Great post Cast Iron
Agree about all your points particularly the keeper, he made two world class saves but... he's a shocker on corners
Dartford
Did you pay the subscription?
Apologies Mc but you have lost me on that one
Subscription?
If you mean was I there paying the entrance fee.. Yes or rather No to the latter. I had the option of 6 free tickets on the night generously donated by mates either on holiday or just totally disillusioned with WH. I took Dartford Ghirl, in the posh seats, know how to treat a lady, drag her out on a freezing night kicking and screaming to the BoM!!!
I thought we played a lot better, couldn't have been worse than Wolves in fairness, lost to the bottom team and had no goals or shots on target is pretty much rock bottom regardless of how many conceded.
I thought the new boys looked ok, lack some quality but prepared to fight / good work rate, put in a shift.
We just make too many mistakes, basic errors, give the ball away too easily and not prepared to take responsibility to get the ball forward, pass back, safe option, basically COWARDS.
Both goals were preventable. Silly challenge gave the freekick away in a dangerous position, we put a subbuteo man KWP on the goal line who couldnt jump high enough to head the looping ball away. Alphonse is crap with set pieces, no where near getting the ball and struck a opponent clear pen regrettably IMO.
As for the support, I thought the atmosphere was pretty good. I suspect less tourists and more old skool perhaps?
The fact remains that we had 4 must win games and ended up with a point. We should now be well out of relegation trouble instead we are mentally preparing for a trip to Bermondsey.
no probs Dartford
i was just kidding around as to Cast Irons post....you no the length etc...but he's the same as the rest of us once you start putting your thoughts down about the club you just cannot stop!......And posh seats eh wont be long before we see you and your better half in the boardroom and sitting alongside the dwarf and Ampika! during a game.....
VAR
all the fuss... Really?
Previously referees were constantly getting it wrong. Its very rare that the VAR team screw up on the letter of the law. In our case, Tatty was off side according to the law and Alphonse made a complete Charlie of the cross and slapped the forest guy so.. penalty, according to the law.
It not about getting rid of VAR its more a case of changing law or its interpretation needs to be clearer.
The ref had a shocker, we didnt get a fair hearing.
Im not jumping on the VAR bandwagon, we lost due to our own failings.
So Nuno was a goalie right?
So Nuno was a goalie right?
Then he needs to have a word with Areola about his Superman impressions. He cant fly FFS. Either that or get a goalie who has an all round game. Mad Herman Munster is a midget who cant jump.
Get Fab back in surely it's obvious?
