Three games, two points. It’s been a tough start to the Championship season for the Hammers, and today at Vicarage Road, Nuno’s side have walked away with a point thanks to a goalless second half, with the action coming in the first half.
Throughout the first half, the Hammers seemed cagey and only through Taty Castellanos’ sheer determination did we manage to claw a goal. In the second half, the team appeared a lot more dominant overall in comparison to Watford, but all in all, the final third wasn’t good enough.
Nuno tried a 4-2-3-1 today within the team, and it was a better result than the Charlton match, but there’s a massive amount of work the Hammers need to do, on the pitch and off the pitch. With Divine Mukasa being taken off simply due to running out of gas in the tank, it meant that Nuno had to change formations, as we don’t have a like-for-like replacement.
Manor Solomon works his socks off for 90 minutes, and there’s no replacement in sight off the bench. The side opted to play Walker-Peters at left-back rather than on the right due to our minimal reinforcements.
The side has positive aspects, but all in all, the results need to come, and the reality needs to be viewed. It was a dire viewing and one that made you shout, “Someone take a shot!” at the TV
Reinforcements and voices are needed in this side, and with three days remaining in the transfer window, magic needs to come alive. West Ham are currently focusing on signing a new centre-back as well as a left-back and currently have an agreement in place to sign Edvin Austbø, who is a winger.
West Ham and Nuno Espírito Santo will have to come out firing against Wolves on Tuesday evening at the London Stadium - otherwise, things could take an ugly turn rather fast!

Thought he had a very good game....Nuno has to sort the LB out KWP playing their is not going to work and if he has decided Scarles is not for him then Mayers has to start.....up front Piroe has to start otherwise we have no target man no physical presence what so ever....and why Kante started ahead of Orford puzzles me and if this new winger signs all well and good but who is he meant to provide service for?

A decent goalkeeper is a must too.
Jury is still out for me on Solomon, so far has not impressed me in the slightest. I lost count of how many times he gave the ball away yesterday and like Benrahma before him, has a habit of keeping the ball too long and running down blind alleys.
Kante seems to be another target for West Ham fans but again,in my opinion,Orford is not much of an improvement. Nuno seems to have an issue with Mayers, as I was baffled as to his selection of Walker Peters in the left spot when playing him in his normal position with Mayers and two CBs in a back four would have seemed more balanced.
After all is said though,this is a team in transition so time is needed to gel and for Nuno to understand what he wants. I just hope it doesn't take as long as last season when he first came in.
Finally, is it just me who has a sense of Deja Vu, the last time we were relegated and had a manager fans hounded at every opportunity who stripped and rebuilt a team and ground out results, not always wins, in what really isn't the easy league some blinkered fans seem to think it is. I think Nuno will get us up.I think fans will piss him off and he'll go and so the whole cycle will begin again.

When Soucek gets back I think he will be the Target man with Piroe and Taty feeding off him at set pieces, the trouble is he's not due back till the end of the month. Perhaps the Norwegian kid can move into the middle for the time being the problem is we have no height in our attack and tbf I don't Know if he is ang good in the air but at 6ft 2 he's certainly tall enough.
