West Ham’s Fixture Fate Date Revealed

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 23/06/2026 - 10:44

Whilst the Premier League fixtures were released a couple of days ago, it would be of no interest to the Hammers as on the 25th June at 10:00AM the Championship dates and times will all be released.

Unlike the Premier League, the Championship announces all of the confirmed dates and times for games up until December, and gradually throughout the season, they will then confirm them all. The reason why? It allows away fans to plan and not worry about a game being moved or changed, quite a nice touch given that we’ve been used to being forced to go up to St James’ Park on a Sunday where nobody anticipated it; at least now we can have an expectation.

Additionally, the Hammers will also have to deal with the total joy and excitement in finding out who their Carabao Cup First Round draw is against… how times have changed!

West Ham will be able to draw any team that isn’t in the Premier League as they come in the round after, as well as teams only in the South… which can sometimes include teams that are also in the North, such as our Draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers last season; I wouldn’t exactly class that as South.

Nevertheless, the pinpoint dates will come out in just two days, but it seems inevitable that West Ham will be playing on the opening day, given that we are the biggest team in the Championship. However, it also wouldn’t come as a surprise if it just happened to be a certain rival, perhaps the EFL’s idea of choice would be to get it done and out of the way, but who knows!

It's a shame, that the latest bunch of ten bob tearaways, have to feast on decades gone by. As if it keep up some bygone tradition. I was there in the 70's and 80's and thats where it should be left.

My money is on Bristol City at (H) first game.
