West Ham 4th-Must Be The LSD

We must instantly declare that we in no way condone the use of hallucinogenics in this article, and the above mentioned title has nothing at all to do with mind bending drugs, however Hammers fans might feel that 'something' has been put in the water given the recent run of results!

The LSD we were referring to is actually an acronym for Lithe, Strong and Direct, David Moyes' blueprint of how he wants his team to perform, the evidence was apparent in the away win against Crystal Palce, courtesey of a brace from bargain of the century Tomas Soucek, followed by a headed goal from 'Les' Dawson, his 2nd for the club.

In actuality the final score could have been Palace 2- 6 West Ham had Michail Antonio not hit the post TWICE and also been denied another goal from close range by Palace's keeper . Fabianski might have been slightly at fault for Palace's 1st goal, however he made amends with a superb one on one save in the 2nd half when Palace were threatening to fight back.

This fixture was a potential banana skin for the Hammers bandwagon, but despite going down to a Zaha goal early doors, the team never looked like they would end up 2nd best, and so it proved. The whole team played admirably, and David Moyes had a wry smile as he witnessed Said Berahma get 'stuck in' all over the pitch, while at the same time showcasing his incredible ability on the ball.

It's a happy day to be a Hammer, but you might just wake up and find it was all a dream - Ed

it might only be for a day but 4th wow...as for last nights game even when we conceded early for i was confident we would come back...there is a new toughness mentally in this side that Moyes has instilled and no longer caught in the headlights and thumped 4/5 nil......yes we do need a striker big time and i am not sure where Lingarrd comes into the side if we do loan him but hey lets just enjoy the moment.

When you look at what Moyes has done in such a relatively short time at this club, it is truly insane. I'm not sure I can remember such strength and resilience in a West Ham team. I am in awe of what Moyes has created here and full of admiration for the players that have brought into his ethos carrying out his plans to a T on the pitch.
The next step, in my opinion, is to give Moyes a 5-year contract (which seems unusual in this day and age), but which as well as making a clear statement of intent, would also give a platform of stability around the club and give him the time needed, to restructure this club from top to bottom, therefore creating a legacy going forward.
This club has been without direction for so long, operating in a dysfunctional manner without structure.... how else could we end up with only one scout at the club? Moyes is the man to put the structure in place at this club and awaken the brand and the academy once more with the New West Ham way. the chairmen don't even have to be brave with this decision as it is a No Brainer!
I've seen loads in my time as a supporter, but minus our cup years and 1986, this feels different and feels like a level of consistency and discipline that I haven't seen before.

The thing is we are going up in value and the board have to realise that a, we need a bloody good striker to back up Ant and also give him the occasional rest and b, Moyes and Rice need to be wrapped up long term. If they want big money to sell the club then they need to keep us stable up near the higher echelon of the Premier league not languishing in the bottom half.

You can see that the players are pleased to be together, and are knowing where each other is going to be,the passing and movement is something else, the pressure and closing down of the opposition is the same, where our heads used to go down when we went behind has gone, its now bringing us to life, surging forward for the win,i take my hat off to Moyes and all the coaching staff.

This is a real team, creating an identity. Everybody pulls their balls out for everyone else. No passengers, prima donas or otherwise. So no we don't need that social media clown Lingard anywhere near this unit!!!

Oi big boy, what's your name?

nevillenixon's picture

Agreed, decent player, but why rock the boat and risk damaging the brilliant team spirit that has been established by Moyes and his current players, also apparently Man U are looking for an enormous loan fee!

Nev, Boogers...Totally agree about the point of basically upsetting the apple cart, the team spirit at the moment is exceptional so why mess it up with a Billy Big B*****x? Actually, Im not sure that would be the case. Jesse Lingard is a quality player with England caps who's face just doesn't fit at the moment in Mancland. I think any swagger would be soon addressed by the likes of Marky reminding him he couldnt get in the 1st team with the Red Mancs. Moyes knows him and hes proving to be very astute with signings so .... In The Moyessiah we trust!!!

I just wish the Striker position was sorted. The Beast had an off night, that happens but... I think I could see Wilson tucking away a few of those chances.. lets see! Onwards and upwards... Come on you Irons!!!!!

Looks like lingard is on his way,not sure myself who he replaces? Got a great team spirit at the moment & he will have to prove his worth, there is no room for instagram posers in this team!!

I think its not without its risks 65!

At the moment I cant see who he would replace in the midfield? He's quality for sure and I guess Moyes wants back up in the squad. Theres no mistaking his Instagram antics from the past, still see that one of him cowering on the team bus outside The Boleyn pub! Hopefully he has matured... for his sake... otherwise Marky will give him a right hander!

1 or 2 things we've got to be carefull of ,lets hope the dildos dont get awe struck with this success and want some of the lime light ,they've been nice and quiet for the last 3 or 4 months sitting in their parlour counting out their dosh ,lets keep it that way.
Another thing is as our boys gain more notoriety they are goin to be much sort after by the big boys ,i allways said you can judge our lot by how many of them would walk in the likes of the bin dippers, manua ,the scum ,used to be 1 if we were lucky ,Declan, and thats only recently ,now i cant think of any of them that would not get a place in those clubs ,indeed we'll do well if they all stay so we've got to take a look at the wage structures, we must pay them according to their worth .
Its a horrible thought but is Fabs on his way down after reaching his peak ,i know 2 years ago he would have got to those 2 they scored last night ,just a thought .COYI

We told you so ' world class team,we wanted Moyes all the time & Pellegrini was just a stop gap,we didnt mind taking a 25 mill hit on the sulky one cos it's just loose change anyway....blah blah f*cking blah....

We were watching the game in super 5K or whatever they call it, and you could see the spray coming off the ball before getting stuck on the surface, apparently the groundsman had been instructed to give the pitch a 'good watering' ahead of the game to help Palace's slick passing style, someone should have told him to look at the weather forecast, because the heavens opened just after the game began making the surface difficult to play on, and to judge the movement of the ball.

This will be our year... Great song by the zombie's - but could also be the soundtrack to our season! I'm totally getting carried away but just imagine if we did the unthinkable and clinched the title this year! How much would it piss off the big boys and enrage spurs!? There's not much in the points this season and its a tight race at the top, doesn't look like there's a stand out team like Liverpool last year - or perhaps there are some sleeping giants waiting to awaken. Either way I thought I'd have a cheeky punt on us finishing 1st and doing a Leicester - will be in for a few quid if it comes true... you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one!

Nice to be there in 4th, now we play some of the top teams around us, plus Man U in the FA Cup. If we can hold our own and put away the many chances we have been getting and not wasting them as we have been doing, we could hold on to a top sixth place by the end of the season imo. Champions League and winning the League are just a dream. You can see Moyes is relying on total attack when breaking forward having only one striker (and there's no way GSB will finance a decent striker in this window to help Antonio). They are all having a go but accuracy or soft shots seem to be half the make up of our shots on goal, against the top clubs so far we have lost or been lucky to get a draw and our chances will be less against them the second half of the season.
However to end on a positive note if Bowen to a lesser extent, Bahrama, Forlan and even Lingard (if we sign him) find their shooting boots, we are in for an exciting finish to this season, just wish we were all there to witness it.
