No time for an introduction, seeing as just three minutes into the fixture, Nuno’s side saw them 1-0 down. A poor defensive error makes you question Areola again. It’s stunning to see a goalkeeper have such abysmal catching ability, alongside Wan-Bissaka and Todibo not covering themselves in glory as you could see their clogs turning whilst pondering whether to make a tackle.
Quicker than getting up in the morning and making yourself a cuppa, we were 1-0 down.
A shoulder injury for Ollie Scarles saw Callum Wilson be lifted onto the field, and due to the severity of the situation alongside an unreasonably long VAR check for Paqueta’s offside infringement, a painful 13 minutes were added on, forcing the Hammers to endure watching the team for even longer.
Expectedly and underwhelming, nothing would happen before halftime.
It only took an hour to fathom that Matheus Fernandes should perhaps be subbed on for the forever ageing Irving, who for the second game in a row within five days, had a torrid time out.
From half an hour to an hour, to full time, the Hammers were overrun in every aspect of the match, and despite having the majority of possession in the second half, West Ham still managed to look like the worst team. The slither of attacking chances that came Nuno’s way, none would provide a true threat.
Fernandes’ conciliation goal provides Nuno the smallest of cushions to not be totally embarrassed on the face of it, but looking into the details, it’s nothing but a whirlwind of horror.
There’s not a soulless soul on the pitch that can be singled out for the performance that was witnessed tonight, but from the owners to the stadium, the situation is dire.
An accumulation of events across the last couple of years has left the Hammers where they are now, owners that have overstayed their welcome, ultimately left answerless with the situation the once mighty Irons are now in.
A soulless arena awaits a daunting return to face Newcastle.

Well
The squads crap. Compare our midfield to all other sides. And our central def. Bottom line is we are 2nd bottom on merit
Sully and Brady can sit and pretend they run a prem league club as we sink into the championship.
Everyone could see this play out over 18 months ago!
It started in the Moyes era, shocking appointments of Loppy & Potter, nothing done to improve the legs in midfield, overpriced useless centre backs, no quality striker and now another loser in charge.
This was always going to happen and it has Sullivan / Brady DNA all over it due to lack of investment and shocking recruitment.
Wake up everybody, smell the coffee, your club is just a short step from being extinct, join the protests....... BS Out!!!
I agree Dartford,i think
I agree Dartford,i think Moyes would of done better, with more investment,Brady with all her so called business sense,in this business shes an idiot,it was stated once she tried to get in the changing room to have her say to the players, but Moyes wouldnt let her in and told her to fuck off, stupid woman.
Last 20 minutes
Thought WHU were a lot better and nuno stumbled into his best X1 I am sure it was an accident but dare I say it Scarles got injured and was replaced by a full back (Dioff) and Wilson came on we started to play a bit better by the time Irving came off and Potts and Fernandes came on we were so much better and if Nuno played the team that he finished with I think we could have got a draw, or even won it. So many Premiership managers take ages fafing around with their teams until they find a team that are their best X1 and I think Nuno found this almost by accident last night. When you think of the team that he started with Scharles and Irving and Tobido none of them should have been anywhere near that starting selection I thought that Nuno had learnt his lesson against Brentford but apparently not, and then he does the virtually the same against Leeds- the definition of Insanity doing something that don't work -so you do it again! But even Nuno must see that in the last 20 mins he had his best team out on the pitch this was why all the Leeds supporters were whistling with 5 mins to go. the only thing would be that they need a bit of height and Souchec or Mavrapanos have got to be there to help defend corners. Think Rob Green got it right about what they to do when Alerdyce was manager, get out there- and keep practicing defending corners and keep on doing it and keep on keepin on you can say what you like about Alerdyce but he was a good defensive coach and I thought that Nuno was supposed to be as well, but after last night my estimations have really gone down and I am beginning to wonder if what the pundits said about Moyes "Be careful what you wish for" could have been right" although I didn't think it at the time, and wanted him out. Perhaps we want to much, and expect to much from Nuno but after all said and done, he's only been here 6 weeks but although we are supposed to be the 18th wealthiest club in the world we cant keep sacking managers that would probably be 40 million we have wasted, so we must be more patient an get behind the manager and players -suck it up and hope we come out the other side in May, If I can see a glimmer of hope out of that shit show last night, surely the coaches must see it Lets hope so anyway COYI
