West Ham United Are Officially Relegated - West Ham 3-0 Leeds

From Prague to Preston. West Ham United have officially been relegated from the Premier League

The great escape hasn’t been completed. It was a miracle that the Hammers even went into Gameweek 38, the final Matchweek of the Premier League season, with a chance to stay up.

The Hammers ultimately held up their end of the bargain this afternoon after securing three points, but unfortunately, David Moyes’ Everton side put up a miserable performance, one which didn’t even register a shot on target, astonishing.

Words on today’s game? Embarrassing. Players ran their hearts out and produced a brilliant performance, but why wasn’t that demonstrated throughout? Why was it only on the final day that the level of intensity we required all season was shown?

Today’s result also summarises the reality of how far the Hammers have fallen. Whilst West Ham will be playing in the Championship next season, Bournemouth and Sunderland will BOTH be representing England in the Europa League. Two clubs that resemble nothing near the Hammers’ income nor fanbase, but certainly two clubs that resemble what a true, caring ownership can produce and one that is run based on quality rather than a friendly social gathering.

The ultimate victory of the game was the fans.

Leeds initially mocked West Ham signing “Lincoln away ole ole”… can you blame them? But then, the two following chants were both sung in unity by West Ham & Leeds, which were “You sold your soul for this shit hole” as well as “Cockney Boys, on a bender, David Sullivan is a sex offender” - David Sullivan was seen leaving his chair in the box after these chants were sung.

A funeral for a friend, an ending which is followed by many black holes. Today is a day of misery, sadness and primarily disappointment, but it has been an impending feeling for the last couple of years and one which felt like a matter of time.

A black hole of questions will now arise over the coming days, but one thing that is clear, from head to toe, is that West Ham will need an entire transformation.

Sadly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Our roots are deep, but the rot has risen - a new tree is the only answer.

First half was shambolic. We really needed to come out the traps. Grab an early goal & apply some pressure to Spurs. But in true West Ham fashion. We was timid. No urgency. No threat.

A time for reflection? The one thing to come out of today is sullivan knows. He's universally hated from arsehole to breakfast time. All across the east end and beyond.

Being constantly abused by the fans, is it enough to make him sell. Surely he can't be that thick skinned. Relegated and being called a nonse, surely this is the end?
