West Ham United have made another addition to their backroom staff but this time to their academy. Whilst a formal announcement hasn’t been made, Lukasz Fabiański has joined the academy coaching team in a part-time role as a goalkeeper coach.
The former player who spent eight years as a Hammer has decided that he wants to take his first step into coaching, taking a part-time role in the academy, helping the future generation of goalkeepers.
He said: “I started working as a goalkeepers coach at the West Ham academy. It brings me a lot of joy to be back on the pitch.”
West Ham have a range of youth goalkeepers rising through the ranks with Finlay Herrick, Finley Hooper, Lance Awesu, Mason Terry and Tommy Goodger. The wise nature of Fabiański will help nurture these young prospects and give them the nudge they might need to reach the next level.
It’s always positive to see a former player be signed to become a staff member behind the scenes.
