We clearly lack a serious threat in front of goal, which is why Everton don't seem particularly worried, despite all our endeavour. But we've been quick to recover after losing possession, we've harried them in midfield, and Collins has been imperious. Of course it can all change in the second half, but that's a young team out there for us showing a lot of heart.

It's pretty good so far, ginge has been a rock and Masuaka is looking good on that left hand side. We have been the more dominate, hope they keep it up, be nice if we can keep Lukaku quiet in the second half an nick one ourselves. Can only prey.

bloody great team effort, for me Collins was MOM with Masuaku a close second. I was also impressed with Fernandez, it must have been the blond hair.

Everton had not a single shot on target. Great defensive performance. Only Jagielka's face prevented Lanzini from scoring. Good play today from Collins, Masuaku, Lanzini, Reid and meanwhile Fonte and Nordveit were better than expected despite giving the ball away often. That point is precious -- it really eases the worry about relegation. I would still feel a lot happier if we were to get over 40 points. Can't see the next couple of weeks producing much -- Stoke away? Who knows, if they play like they played today.

Excellent effort.. . I'm sure it was Matt Holland on my co-commentary stream today spouting off how Everton were so poor which didn't do a patched up West Ham side any credit at all.
I thought we were marvellous and in Arthur Masuaku, a snip at £6m - In fairness, and they all put in a shift today.... COYI!

with B'mouth, hull & swans all winning, it keeps pressure on us. Swans have pulled 2 points closer to us. somehow Slav needs to kepp the team ticking along.

you cant judge a book by its cover, I was not that impressed with the line up, how wrong was I. I thought the guys did a great job and I new, just new they would say Everton were poor, we stopped them playing and went at them, great performance and deserved all 3 points. I know we played well as I never shouted at the TV once ha ha. Out sanding players were Collins, Masuaku, Lanzini and Ayew played best I have seen him for us.

Wot no snodgrass or feghouli? Did we miss them? Didn't see the game as I was working but a 0-0 against Everton shows a bit of character! At last! Bbc website says we had 15 shots, did we come close or look like scoring? What was Nort like and where did he play? Who was right wing back?

Best defensive performance all season co incides with Adrian returning to the team. May not have had much to do but did the basics well and unlike randolph was constantly barking at the defence.

Good to hear for a change we had a good defensive display maybe something to build on? So how much of that team formation should we keep for next game? I like the idea of fernandes getting a run on the right for a few games till the end of season. Maybe Nort could do a job at dm? Masaku is putting a nice run together and Collins has done well. Reid ever reliable? I'm assuming neither snoods or feghouli will be in team next week. So is there a place for either noble, cresswell, sakho or Carroll based on this? As for Adrian, maybe just maybe the defence feels more comfortable with Adrian there? It stops them panicking? If he has better communication it makes a lot of differance. If they have trust and belief in him then it makes a more steady defence even without him doing much.

Must admit I was shocked by the result but great feeling for once the shock was a positive kind that maybe we can get behind.

Im afraid this Carroll thing has to end ,we cant go on like this i dont think any other club would persevere for so long with a striker thats only fit for half the season we are going to have to break the bank to try and land a quality striker 15 -20 a season .Funny thing is if Carroll was playing today we would have scored at least 2

But i am pleased as punch at that performance today,if only we were better at finishing we would have deservedly won it!!
that was his best performance by a country mile from nortveit, also i thought sakho when he came on was showing signs of his old self...& masuaku every time i see him he gets better!!

These two were rock solid in defense, but Masuaku had the Payet skills when he moved forward with the ball. I said in my very early in the season posts that he is a very talented player, and was sad to hear early this year that they were going to unload him at the end of the season as he "disappointed Bilic". To me he is proving to be the best left back in the premier division. The two Davids should act to keep him otherwise the likes of Man City, Chelsea, and Liverpool could target him. He, Ayew and Lanzini really took the game to Everton. Some huge positives from this game with Everton not having a shot at goal, whereas Lanzini was unlucky not to have won it for West Ham with that goalbound strike that struck Jagielka's face. Fernandes also displayed his skilful talents. Nordveit had some good spells, Callieri never looked like he could score. Also, Sakho made no significant impact but then he needs to gain his full fitness. Would have liked to see Fletcher starting instead of Callieri. If the team continues to perform like this, all I can say is that West Ham could nick possibly six points to add to the single point that they took today. Finally, yes we could have lost it as Collins was lucky not to have given away what seemed like a certain penalty. Thankfully the two or three anti West Ham referees were not officiating today.

Some people think Carroll would have made a difference, and he certainly would have added height, strength and skill. Since we had so many corners and well-positioned free kicks, it's hard to think that AC would not have gotten on the end of one. On the other hand, it was so refreshing to see West Ham counterattacking with speed, more passes on the deck, interplay between Lanzini, Ayew, Masuaku and Fernandes. I just think if Carroll had been there we'd have seen more long balls, more predictable stuff, and Everton knowing how to play against that. Toronto is right that we didn't see much from Sakho, but if you watched him off the ball he was working hard to get in behind defenders and to use speed, especially down the right -- there were little glimpses of his old self, and it whet my appetite for the kind of football we played when he was scoring the season before last. I loved the work done by the two blonde-dyed wingbacks Masuaku and Fernandes. They got forward AND back really well. Neither really seemed a threat to score, however. Would love to see this team with Antonio and healthy Sakho in the side (Antonio for Ayew and Sakho for Calleri). COYI.

Having watched motd and looking at the coming fixtures I think hull and Swansea definately have enough to stay up, palace have the games in hand but the hardest run in. So I'm thinking we at least need another point maybe 3 to be certain. If not the final game against burnley could be a real biggy. With the form of burnley and Us being us this could easily decide on who goes down! IMO we have got to grind a point or two out from somewhere as leaving it till the final day could be suicide.

On the subject of motd, let's address the important point of yesterday's match. Is James Collins dying his his beard a brighter shade of ginger? Certainly looked more orange than normal!

For a 0-0 draw it was a very good match. As everyone else has said, Collins and Masuaka were Men of the match but this was a real team effort and Callieri and Ayew both put in a good shift. The most pleasant surprise was Nordveit who had an excellent game in his best position.I am not even thiking of the bottom of the table, Swansea would have to win 3 out of 4 to catch us and that is just not going to happen and if we play like this next week, we will win at Stoke and you know we are going to beat Spurs to stop them catching Chelsea.

before the game I would taken a draw but on the day I thought we were the better team. Like Jeffhammer I thought Norfveit was very impressive as was Masuaku. Yet again between the sticks we have issues, Adrians stupidity could have cost us! Still need a result at Stoke to be safe.

Not the best of throws granted but the stupidity was hanging a foot out with studs showing which if connected would have been a pen. I just feel that both keepers are capably of a moments madness in ever game.

Everton didnt have a shot on target in 90 mins of play... even I would have kept a clean sheet. I think we were also very fortunate that Everton were not at the races, it took them over 60 mins to get a pass to The Monster and not a shot on goal. That said I thought the defensive play was good with Musaka, Ginger and Nordi have really good games. Ive been a big critic of Nordtveit but I thought he was really good on Saturday and better than Nobs

But the point is, unlike randolph who was flapping at every cross, long ball and set piece. Adrian was constantly barking orders at his defence and keeping them organised. Adrian now has same amount of league clean sheets as randolph in 10 less games

Still an open question which one it will be. With Palace beating Liverpool away, it doesn't look like being them -- Allardyce has never been relegated. On current form I don't think it'll be Bournemouth or Leicester, either. That leaves us, Burnley, Hull, and Swansea to fight it out for EPL survival. Of all those teams, believe it or not, the two with the worst form are Burnley and West Ham -- only seven points in the last ten for each. Hull have 13 and Swansea 10. Is it going to come down to needing a win at Burnley on the last day, for two teams in Claret and Blue? Seems like one of those things that is written.

Swanseas remaining games are Man Utd away Sunderland Away West Brom Home and |Everton Home. They have managed 31 points from 34 games and there is no way they will get 8 points from those 4 games. Its Swansea Boro and Sunderland for me.If we play against Stoke the way we played against Everton, we will have 3 more points on Saturday and be looking at a top ten finish.

the Black Cats will have nothing to play for. That leaves them two home matches with everything to play for against two teams that will be locked in mid-table, safe and sound. I wouldn't put it past any desperate team to collect 9 points from those three, though I admit that Everton will be difficult. As for West Ham v Stoke, I only hope that the team gets up for it. Three points there would provide space to breathe and maybe, as you say, a top ten finish, just.
