What Is It With Moyes And Benny?

David Moyes is one of the most experienced managers around, anywhere, so his actions are questioned by few and are usually justified by their end result, therefore it would be churlish to suggest that he has 'lost the plot' when it comes to his interaction with Said Benrahma.

A similar situation occurred when Jarrod Bowen arrived at the club, Moyes seemed to freeze him out and rarely used him initially, it was as if he had to learn the 'Moyes way' first or not play. The Hammers' manager has been fierce, some would say savage, in his criticism of the fleet of foot Algerian.

Rumours abound that Benrahma was NOT a Moyes signing, giving credence as to why the player has had such a lack of first team opportunities. Benrahma started the game against Burnley because his manager had very little choice in the matter, Mark Noble's calf injury meant that Manuel Lanzini was drafted into the midfield, a role he played superbly well, this left the gap for a creative winger/attacker which Benrahma filled equally well.

There are only four games left of the season, and Hammers are still in the running for a European spot, with a slim chance of actually reaching the Champions League should they win all their remaining games, and others, particularly Chelsea, fail to win all of theirs.

If all goes to plan there should be fans in attendance at the London Stadium for the final fixture, how fitting it would be if the game confirmed the prospect of Euro outings for the next season? But to get there David Moyes needs to be slightly more malleable, and utilise the talent that Benrahma obviously has, it is to be hoped that 'A Moyes can change it's spots". - Ed

Diop defo for Oggy.

On last nights performance who do you drop to bring back Rice. No idea!

Last night was fantastic, squeaky bum time near the end but in spells it was "West Ham Way".

So begs the question, why did The Moyessiah put out a defensive option against The Barcodes and Chavski? Last nights team would have got us at the very least 2 points and we would be in the driving seat for the Champions League.. very frustrating!

Your right it was the westham way last night mate, very entertaining & I reckon we would have got more from the last 2 games with that line up.Also the games when we were 3 nil up if we had this attacking formation I don't think our pants would have changed colour so much!!

I think it's fair to say Lingard will not be signing for us. I think he will now go back to Utd and get a run next season. He has proved his quality and I think he will be ahead of the likes of James and others. On to our own players, I'm not at all convinced Benrahma was a Moyes signing. He was bait to lure Lingard here. The Dildos pushed the sale and it would not surprise me at all to see him move on in the Summer.

Taking that on a stage. If Moyes et al, were hell bent on Lingard staying. They could sell Benny and recoup the 20 million and put that towards another 15 million which they may well have and sign Jesse. It's safe to say Jesse is much higher up the pecking order than Benrahma.

As for anyone else, it's throw a six to start, wouldn't be surprised to see the Lingard/Benrahma story start to gather pace though?

To see Benny go,said it before if the dildos are serious about top 6 they need to dig deep down the settee

Benny,Lanzini and Bowen must stay, the pace and Bennys trickery is a must,Lingard is good, but let him go back to the Mancs rather than get rid of anyone of them three,if we had the attack like last night,we wouldnt of lost the last two games, certainly keep Rice.

Totally agree essex ,the way the media talk up Jessi you would think it was all down to him ,dont get me wrong i cant praise him highly enough but your right essex his heart is in Manchester .as to the other points re - team selection ive waited, a long with an awful lot of you for this ,in my case right back to 64 when i was 13 ,i dont know much about the modern day game ,formations ,3 at the back or 4 ,and as for the offside rule and var ,dont get me going ,its amazing how we attach to a football team ,some psychologists say its tribalism, some just say its something you crying out for in our search to be the best ,as i said ive waited ni-on 60 yonks for this and for all we all know this might be just the beginning, who ever come after Moyes will have to try and replicate his ways .
Just to go back about Benny & Moyes i too felt something was nt right ,even last night as he was comming off he barley looked at him ,just a little grasp of the hand and a pat on the back, surely he see's what hes got in Benny ,i think he's going to be a revelation ,i know you'll proberbly laugh but i can see a Georgie Best in him .

I think that Moyes subbed Benny as he was fasting for 12 hours prior to the game. Remember that when the sun set during the match Benny was given a quick drink and just a small snack. Moyes probably did not want to exert him bearing in mind that he did not have a full meal the whole day. That is my two cents, but hopefully Moyes does start him against Everton. As I mentioned previously, the only disappointment was Lingard. He was not up to his best. Maybe he now has realized that West Ham are not going to hold on to him.

Yes, worth adding that I see Benny in for the long haul with us. I think his potential is endless and was a great signing. Lingard, although he has been good for us I don't think of him as part of the picture going forward. Benny the ball for me all day long......
