With next tuesday's transfer deadline looming and only one fit striker available, West Ham United's search for front men has "gone to another level"according to sources at the club. Despite only signing for Juventus this summer, Simone Zaza does not seem to feature in Massimiliano Allegri's plans even though he is an Italian international player, so the Serie A giants are willing to loan Zaza out with an option to buy, although that decision depends on the Italians retaining the services of Fernando Llorente who has been linked with a move to Sevilla, who amusingly have also enquired about taking Andy Carroll on loan for the season!
Turkish international Burak Yilmaz is the other main player in the frame, the Galatasaray striker has reportedly been the subject of bids from The Boleyn, but so far no agreement has been officially agreed, although a figure of €9 Million will be needed to prise the player from Galatasaray. Yilmaz speaking to the media about the potential move said "If I am bought I could go to West Ham, but I would never make a declaration that I want to leave, that would be unfair in front of our fans.”. However his agent, Bayram Dagdeviren, was more forthright (what a surprise!) "Burak Yilmaz wants to leave and if €9 million £6.6 million) is bid, we will approve the sale."
Slaven Billic needs reinforcements urgently, ideally one or both players could be signed before this Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture away to Liverpool at Anfield. - Ed

Why is this happening to us? all the names are mentioned and then slowly we get desperate and then we take whoever is available. What happened to Austin did I miss something! surely this matter is top priority and we should be getting our finger out and getting this sorted

Enough, I have been silent to
Enough, I have been silent to long. This is beginning to resemble the season we got relagated with the best team to get relagated. That season we went with on DiCanio, Kanoute and DeFoe & we lost Paulo and Fred for months and forced to play Ian Pearce up front. The Dave's can talk the talk they need to walk the walk. Sick of hearing how they saved the club which we are all grateful. But unless they pull their fingers out we will be in Forca very very dark winter.

Striker problems again
Is anyone else suffering from a huge bout of de ja vu ?.Once again we are scouring the world for a striker and leaving it to the last minute in the process.Have lost count of the number of attacking players that have been mentioned this month. After 40 years of following the Hammers I am an eternal pessimist when it comes to this type of transfer debacle and so reckon we will end up with the player we nearly got in January ie Adebayor. Its not a huge advance in 8 months is it?.Like the other comments on here I feel the Davids talk a good fight but are terrified to dig deep for a quality striker in case they are stung again. There has been a real lack of forward thinking on their part too as we all knew this would happen.
Got to say, when the window
Got to say, when the window opened and we were quick out of the traps (compared to our previus seasons), i though G&S had learned there lessons and we'd have all our business wrapped up early, which is what you should do. Now here we are fast approaching the window slamming shut and we seem to have no idea who we should be going for and when we do we offer peanuts.
If we end up having to run with Sakho until Carroll and Valencia are fit then we could be well and truly up against it. Trying to detemine if Carroll injured himself putting on his shoes or if he's close to returning is one thing, risking our survival by being tight is something else.
We should have paid off Jarvis/Nolan and Maiga once the season finished and used the money wisely. instead, all three are still at the club and Sully throws up the FFP bollox again!!!
well it looks like Nolan has
well it looks like Nolan has gone and Miaga is on his way if we find a striker, big word "IF" our miserly owners need to get real, we new we would need at least one striker at the end of last season so why have we left it so late yet again? it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that we don't score enough goals, buy a quality forward and problem solved, i'm sure the carroll debarcle is putting them off spending big again.
zaza or yilmaz
same old crap end up with no one or useless player that no one else wants hope i am wrong coyi
