Hammers fans who have grown used to showing only a distance interest in BT TV's European competition coverage and questioning why they pay their subscription, finally have an evening of 'indulgent' UEFA Europa League Cup coverage to enjoy as they watch the teams that have dropped down from the Champions League battle to earn a place against the teams that finished 3rd in their group for the right to appear in the knock out stages, something West Ham have already achieved.
There are a host of high profile teams who are in danger of not even making the knock out stage, including Barcelona, Dortmund, Lazio and Napoli. One or other of Barcelona or Napoli CANNOT get though the two legged ties, it is a similar situation with Lazio and Porto, so some big hitters are guaranteed not to make the next stage.
Tonight's Zenit St Petersburg v Real Betis and Sevilla v Dinamo Zagreb games are of interest, as well as the obvious interest in the outcome of the Rangers v Borussia Dortmund game, with many Hammers fans hoping that Barca win so they can be in the pot to face West Ham.
