Hammers ONLY striker Michail Antonio has NOT been called up to represent Jamaica by the Reggae Boyz coach Paul Hall for their forthcoming World Cup games as it is believed Hammers boss David Moyes 'intervened'. The games, which were ALL due to be played within 7 days, are essentially dead rubbers, as Jamaica cannot possibly qualify for the next tournament due to their poor earlier qualifying results.
This news will come as a great relief to many Hammers fans AND David Moyes who has been openly critical of Big Mich's performances of late, jetting off to the other side of the World for THREE matches in SEVEN days is quite frankly a ludicrous proposition for a young footballer, let alone a 31 year old with a history of injury problems who is currently ploughing a lonely furlough as the club's only striker!
We are under the impression that someone, probably Mark Noble sat Mikey Antonio down for a 'chat' to discuss the pros and cons of his new found International commitments, Marky might well have reminded the ex-Forest man exactly on which side his bread is buttered and who pays his wages, NOT the owners, but the FANS!
Faced with the details in the cold light of day, Mikey himself has probably realised his 'International' boat has already sailed, he can however 'console' himself safe in the knowledge that he can now recharge his batteries, send his troublesome 'Hammies' off for a short break (They must be detachable given their size surely?) and prepare himself for the club's remaining 8 Premier League games and the absolutely VITAL two Europa League Cup 1/4 final games against Olympique Lyonnais.
Hammers season is in the balance, there is still plenty to play for including trying to achieve a top six finish AND of course continuing the European adventure, these should be the main priorities for ANY West Ham player, look after the club and your International career will look after itself, that is unless it is too late!
Better to be a 'massive' fish in a small pond, than a big fish in an ego filled ocean!-LN

I think its more a case of
I think its more a case of Antonio being shattered and exhausted. He's also not in the best of form as a result. I think he knows more than anybody else, that he just needs a complete rest.
